To assist with the management and execution of key financial processes to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the department’s operations, we are seeking a Finance Intern to join our Finance & Accounting team.

We are currently looking to hire ASAP. This role would be starting with part-time hours and transition into full-time hours at the start of the summer.

Missions

• Process invoices through internal systems, assigning proper GL accounts and cost centers 
• Support the approval process for invoices, ensuring correct approval workflows are followed
• Reconcile supplier statements to ensure accurate records and resolve any discrepancies
• Assist with filing daily bank reconciliation paperwork in an organized and timely manner
• Support the update of 1099 vendors in SAP 
• Create and maintain a digital W9 file 
• Assist with managing and updating chargebacks
• Help identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency
• Prepare basic financial reports based on data gathered, providing insights and analysis
• Help organize and maintain the filing cabinet system for financial records and documentation
• Support the upload of sales tax templates for specific states and support accurate submissions
• Assist with audit preparation
• Creation and maintenance of ACH payment files/templates for accurate and efficient payment processing
• Identify potential customers for ACH collections and assist in outreach and set up
• Upload and manage sales tax exemption certificates for customers into Avalara, maintaining accurate records

Requirements

• Progression towards a Bachelor’s degree or degree equivalent in Business, Accounting/Finance, Economics, or related field
• Ability to work well independently or in a team dynamic
• Strong problem solving, analytical, and project management skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and systems
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
• Strong attention to detail
