What You’ll Do:

PLP’s Programming department is looking for two dynamic and creative Assistant Producers to join the PL Stories team. We are hiring for one permanent staff role and one fixed-term contract role ending on 26th May 2025.

PL Stories is our weekly 26-minute documentary show that takes fans closer to the greatest League in the world, it’s players, clubs and unique culture. The successful candidates will excel in the various disciplines of long-form storytelling: from idea generation to pitching and researching compelling ideas, directing complex shoots in a variety of locations, interviewing world class athletes and confidently leading the editing process.

Your role wouldn’t stop there – we are looking for someone who has a thirst to learn new skills and challenges the status quo. This role will allow an ambitious individual to make it their own, supporting the wider team of Assistant Producers, Producers and Senior Producers. Sport is an unpredictable medium and we can guarantee every day will be different and challenging. However, with the depth of experience available at PLP, we are committed to developing you to ensure you thrive in this exciting role.

PLEASE NOTE: These are full-time roles based at our facility in Stockley Park, Uxbridge. You will be required to occasionally work weekends and unsocial hours. Some travel in the UK and worldwide will at times be necessary.

Key Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To:

  • Assisting the Producers/Senior Producer on the editorial production of weekly Documentary show Premier League Stories, for the Premier League.

  • Brainstorm, pitch, plan and research original story ideas that promote the league, the clubs and players to an international audience.

  • Direct single or multi-camera shoots and conduct interviews with contributors as necessary.

  • Log and review rushes and select suitable material for editing.

  • Lead post-production alongside an editor as necessary.

  • Proactively seek collaboration with colleagues in the Digital department to ensure maximum reach of PL Stories content on social platforms.

  • Playing an integral role in developing and supporting others and in shaping an inclusive culture in the PL Stories team and the Programming department.

  • Responsible for adhering to compliance guidelines, as appropriate.

You Will Have The Following Strengths:

  • Leading shoots, edits and post-production in the creation of compelling content.

  • Idea generation, researching and pitching original story ideas.

  • Directing single and multi-camera shoots, sourcing and interviewing contributors.

  • Logging rushes and selecting material for edits.

  • An understanding of the basics of scriptwriting.

  • An understanding of digital workflows.

  • An understanding of contemporary camera equipment and filming techniques.

  • Good knowledge of the Premier League.
