Firewalk Studios is dedicated to creating unforgettable multiplayer experiences that capture the joy of playing together. In 2023, Firewalk joined PlayStation Studios and unveiled its debut project: Concord – an original sci-fi universe and PVP multiplayer FPS launching on PS5 and PC in 2024.

Firewalk is building an elite, next-generation game studio with a focus on a more sustainable approach to game development. The role

Firewalk Studios is looking for a Cinematics CG Supervisor who is interested in realizing the creative vision and high quality bar of the game’s creative leadership, setting up a working and robust shot pipeline to deliver in-game and pre-rendered shots, and build + maintain rigorous technical requirements of the team. You should have seen large scale projects through from start to finish, are deeply familiar with CG pipelines and can lead a team direct guidance and contribution in addition to possessing adept organization and communication skills.You will also contribute to the scheduling and crewing of the project, providing feedback and guidance on growth and technology direction.

  • You have a thorough understanding of the complete CG Pipeline.
  • You possess a discerning creative eye and aesthetic view.
  • You have experience interpreting client's vision and relaying that to your internal team of artists. You’re a conduit for communication.
  • You have the ability to reduce complex problems to their most simple solutions and can meet deadlines in a timely manner.
  • An eye toward anticipating potential problems the tools to unblock workflow and keep the process running smoothly.
  • You are a problem solver and you drive ideas and suggestions so the team does not stall.
  • You have excellent prioritization and time management skills.
  • You have the desire to coach and mentor a team.

What your day might look like

  • Make decisions related to the project’s Cinematics technical development and implementation requirements including workflow, tool, and pipeline decisions.
  • Identify technical problems, bottlenecks and other workflow issues across disciplines and collaborate with directors, leads and production to solve them.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline issues, including rendering, performance, slowness, publishes, and caching.
  • Review roadmaps and schedules to ensure the project is properly equipped to realize the vision of the Creative Director within the amount of time and with the resources provided by the Producer.
  • Review work and support artists to meet the high quality bar expected for the creative vision of the team.
  • Jump in to cover tasks that need an extra set of hands.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years hands-on production experience. Ideally as a CG Supervisor or Sequence Supervisor working on high end TV, Film, or Game CG Animation or VFX work.
  • Expert in Unreal and proficient in Maya, Katana, Nuke +other industry standard software
  • Look dev and/or shader writing a plus, layout and matchmove a plus
  • Good history of collaborating with R&D and Engineering teams and the ability to provide, test and deploy new tool specifications in a production environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Graphics (or equiv. experience)

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

$143,200$201,400 USD

Please note that the actual salary for this position may vary, as it is dependent on various factors including but not limited to experience, location, and market dynamics.
