Ford Field Management and the Detroit Lions currently need a Coordinator for Detroit Lions Women’s Association (DLWA) and Legend Relations. This position will be primarily based out of the Allen Park Training Facility, but may require time at Ford Field Stadium as well as.

 ABOUT THE ROLE:  
The Community Engagement Coordinator is a key member of the Detroit Lions Foundation & Community Relations team who will serve a multi-faceted role. This position will support the Vice President for the Detroit Lions Foundation & Community Relations and the Manager of Player & Legends Relations.  The Community Engagement Coordinator will have an active role with the Legends Community, particularly during the off-season. This position will serve as liaison for the families of players, coaches and executives of the Detroit Lions (known as Detroit Lions Women’s Association or DLWA). The DLWA exists to help bring a feeling of “one pride” to our team and the people who support our team at home. This position will provide day-to-day support for operational activities of the department using administrative prowess and excellent support skills to solve problems and get things done.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES (including, but not limited to):
The Community Engagement Coordinator position will have daily responsibilities including, without limitation, the following:

  • Cultivate a feeling of community and belonging for the DLWA members.
  • Coordinates DLWA-related activities
  • Attend all Detroit Lions season and playoff home games serving as the child-care point-person and supporting the CR team
  • Coordinates game day childcare services and manage the weekly registration process
  • Work collaboratively with Football Operations in continuously maintaining updated contact information for DLWA members
  • Serves as primary contact for DLWA members and provides information about the Metro Detroit area, including directions, medical care, attractions, shopping, nightlife, or recreational opportunities
  • Coordinates community awareness and social responsibility initiatives for DLWA members while staying in close alignment with the Detroit Lions Foundation and Community Relations department to determine areas of need for involvement
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with the DLWA and their families, staff, partners, and the community
  • Provide administrative & coordinator support to the Vice President of Detroit Lions Foundation and Community Relations and the Manager, Player and Legend Relations
  • Assist in managing departmental donations, management of materials and inventory, donation distribution and tracking
  • Balances and reconciles invoices for accurate tracking
  • Attend & assist with monthly Peer Pride meeting and annual Peer Pride Training
  • Assist with Player & Legend giveaway distribution and tracking
  • Assist with planning Player & Legend community events and creating event recaps
  • Assist in data entry and scheduling for Helper Helper database
  • Support Manager, Player and Legend Relations in preliminary Legend Homecoming planning
  • Assist with managing Lions Legends CRM

 NON-ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Supports in projects and organizational tasks, as needed (e.g., data entry, correspondences, invoice processing, scheduling, event logistics, assist with concur)
  • Coordinate all administrative details for visitors, including greeting and escorting all scheduled visitors, coordinating conference rooms, food and beverages, calendar requests, conference rooms, A/V, travel, and other activities as needed. Monitor status of all visitors while on-site
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

 REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2.5 years of demonstrated ability working in events, hospitality, community/public engagement and/or business administration, preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, exercise flexibility as needed, communicate changes or updates in a timely manner
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent at building and maintaining professional relationships and strong ability to cultivate a sense of community internally
  • Self-starter who is excited to add value to their team and organization
  • A valid Driver’s License and a good driving record
  • Will adjust schedule as needed to meet work goals and time constraints.
  • May require work out of both the Ford Field Management Office and the Allen Park Training Facility
  • Team-First mindset and approach in all duties and responsibilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to connect with, and relate to, all levels of staff, management, clients, and vendors.
  • Strong computer skills including experience with MS Office products, including but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint with the ability to learn new programs. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
