The role: Director of PMO

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Director of PMO to lead our Project Management Office. The Director will play a crucial role in driving successful project execution and ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Adopting an agile approach in managing the evolution towards a more technical PMO.
  • Work with the Projects and Program Director (Corporate) to embed a new multi-functional delivery model - with a focus on problem solving, agility, progress measurement through metrics (e.g. KPIs), quality reporting and change management.
  • Ensure ability to deliver under new model by appropriate resourcing & leadership plan.
  • Ensure the new delivery model is communicated with the wider business, stakeholders are both engaged and understand the model and standards are upheld. The post holder will adapt, review and optimize the model and team, where required.
  • Oversight of both the Tech portfolio and corporate portfolios within the PMO function
  • Consistently advise and influence PMs and stakeholders (without necessarily owning the projects themselves) in order ensure delivery against expectations.
  • Advocating and enabling projects at a senior management level, removing blockers and addressing risks/challenges where necessary
  • Work with Project & Programs Director on execution of high-impact or special projects or programs for ExCo, as required.
  • Liaise with senior leadership to ensure sufficient direction is captured across functions/time/changes in business direction/strategy. Surface capacity, pacing, resourcing issues and any other red flag issues needing leadership attention.
  • Set appropriate levels of visibility and increase accountability across project teams.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the PMO – increasing the function’s maturity and impact factor within the business.
  • Ensure individual & team performance is consistently managed by Project & Program Director (through role specifications, objective or goal setting, OKRs etc.) and that the team are aware of the vision, direction and positioning of the function.
  • Oversight of function's processes, governance and internal projects etc.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, deliverables, and success criteria.
  • Conduct regular project portfolio reviews, identifying resource gaps, conflicts, and dependencies and ensuring optimal resource allocation.
  • Prepare and present project status reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics, risks, and opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, driving the adoption of innovative project management methodologies and tools.
  • Drive knowledge sharing and collaboration within the PMO and across project teams to maximize project outcomes.

 

Required skills:

  • Proven experience as a Director of PMO within a tech organization, including leadership and management of complex tech projects.
  • Proven experience in an agile and everchanging environment, the ability to pivot projects and support stakeholders in making key decisions when doing so.
  • Deep understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others towards common goals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously while adding structure to this environment where needed.
  • Experience with project management software and tools.

The salary for this role is based on an annualized range of $200,000 - $250,000 USD. This role will also be eligible to take part in Genius Sports Group's benefits plan.

You will be based in our New York City office and expected to be in at least 3 days a week. This policy is subject to change.

Our salary intelligence, powered by our AI algorithms, has calculated an estimated range for this position between $130,000 - $160,000 . Please note that the actual salary for this position may vary, as it is dependent on various factors including but not limited to experience, location, and market dynamics.
