Financial Analysis Senior Lead, Affiliate Leagues

The NBA will discuss accommodations for individuals who cannot be vaccinated due to a medical reason or sincerely held religious belief, practice, or observance.   Position Summary: This position will be the Finance Lead for the WNBA, G League, and NBA 2K League (“Affiliated Leagues”). The individual will analyze and report on League and Team financial data to assist with management decision-making, inform long-term strategic plans, and implement finance best practices.   Major Responsibilities: Develop and maintain short- and long-term financial projection models for the Teams and League for three affiliated leagues. Assist Strategy Leads within each League to develop financial projections for new strategic investments and determine impact on long-term financials. Lead the annual League budget and quarterly projection process, including review, analysis, and presentation to management within each Affiliate League and broader NBA Senior Leadership Team Coordinate with League Operations to develop external board reporting packages, including management discussion and analysis (MD&A) and presentation materials Lead monthly and quarterly financial tracking, reporting, and variance analysis on League P&L and cash flow/funding. Identify areas of risk or opportunity. Complete annual requirements of the Collective Bargaining Agreement(s) and serve as the main point of contact on financial implications of union-related discussions Manage two direct reports, with the following key responsibilities: Partner with controllership to ensure a timely and accurate monthly close process and various financial transactions on League financial statements Partner with Team CFOs on periodic budget and projection collections and variance analysis Lead weekly gate reporting for all Leagues Provide financial analysis and ad hoc support for the Commissioner of WNBA, President of NBA G-League, Managing Director of NBA 2K League, and Senior Vice President, NBA Team Finance   Required Education/Professional Experience: Bachelor's Degree with some background in Finance or related area required MBA / CPA not required Minimum 6-8 years relevant business experience in either corporate FP&A, investment banking, or other financial analytics role   Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes: Strong interest in sports and media preferred Strong financial modeling/Excel skills and attention to detail are essential Strong teamwork, task prioritization and problem-solving skills Prior experience with managing a team of analyst-level direct reports Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills Ability to work cross-functionally   Ability to learn quickly and add value by applying analytical and business fundamentals   Salary Range: $165,000 - $175,000    We Consider Applicants For All Positions On The Basis Of Merit, Qualifications And Business Needs, And Without Regard To Race, Color, National Origin, Religion, Sex, Gender Identity, Age, Disability, Alienage Or Citizenship Status, Ancestry, Marital Status, Creed, Genetic Predisposition Or Carrier Status, Sexual Orientation, Veteran Status, Familial Status, Status As A Victim Of Domestic Violence Or Any Other Status Or Characteristic Protected By Applicable Federal, State, Or Local Law.
