About the Role & Team

We have an exciting opportunity for an App Store Optimization (ASO) Specialist on our Growth Marketing team who will optimize our App/Play Store listings for conversion and search discoverability. In this brand new role at Penn & theScore, one will need to be comfortable using various resources to build an ASO plan, have the ability to drive and coordinate activities across multiple teams, be innately curious, detail-oriented, be highly analytical, comfortable with pulling data by yourself and have innovative solutions for cross-functional projects. 

Establishing ASO processes across all Penn brands & apps, documenting standard methodologies, research new insights and trends for optimization, test and learn in stores, maximizing app store listing conversion, and lead delivery of app store content, and creative/media delivery will be key responsibilities. 

This role requires one who is willing to be entrepreneurial, navigate through ambiguity, and work in an environment where you have to build lasting relationships across multiple departments to achieve success. Your app marketing knowledge, business acumen, analytical skills and creative skills will be put to the test to maximize organic performance of our app store listings.

About the Work

  • Manage Penn’s App/Play Store presence, optimization, and discoverability efforts
  • Work cross-functionally between product, engineering, brand, marketing, legal, customer support team, vendor management and analytics to streamline strategic execution, iterate quickly and drive ASO strategy
  • Stay on top of ASO trends and competitor analysis, formulate new ideas to test
  • Test in the app stores, monitor performance and effectively communicate results
  • Create, communicate and maintain documentation such as playbooks, templates and best practices
  • Other duties as required.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree or at least 2+ years of equivalent professional experience
  • Strive for results with excellent relationship-building, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit in a brand new cross-functional role
  • Be meticulous and believe that details matter greatly to the success of the team
  • Be self-organized and skilled in project and program management
  • Ability to solve problems & operate in ambiguity
  • Proven record of working independently to define and execute key analyses
  • SEO/SEM experience a strong asset in addition to ASO experience
  • Strong knowledge of Google Workspace Tools (Sheets, Slides) and demonstrated experience in analysis and research
  • Mobile, E-commerce, travel, or consumer/retail experience a plus
  • Creative skills such as editing/directing creative assets delivery & copywriting is a plus
  • A professional ‘get-it-done’ attitude and engaging character
  • Familiar with sports & sports betting not required but an asset
