The Role:

The Drone Racing League (DRL, an Infinite Reality Company, is the global, professional drone racing property. Merging the digital with the real, DRL combines innovative technology, custom content, and thrilling live sporting and esports events that broadcast and live stream on premier international sports networks including NBC and Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, and Instagram. DRL is owned by Infinite Reality (iR), an innovative technology and entertainment company specializing in the development of cutting-edge, AI-powered immersive experiences.

DRL is seeking an experienced and visionary leader to serve as the Head of the Drone Racing League. The head of DRL will directly oversee all operational functions of DRL and manage the dedicated team of DRL staff. This role will also partner with iR’s business development, marketing and finance leadership, while coordinating and utilizing iR’s vast resources relevant to the league.

Now partnered with Infinite Reality, DRL is entering a new and exciting phase, growing the footprint of the league in terms of events and global presence, as well as developing a permanent race facility and STEM education center in iR’s new global headquarters. This role will oversee the strategy and execution of that vision, and own both team and P&L responsibility.

What You'll Do:

  • Team Development: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team to achieve organizational goals
  • Operational Leadership: Oversee daily operations and ensure the efficient functioning of all departments while leveraging shared resources internal to iR (HR, Finance, Media Production, Marketing, Creative Services, etc)
  • Event Management: Ensure the successful execution of DRL’s live sporting and esports events
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic initiatives to drive growth and innovation within the league
  • Technology Oversight: Drive the integration of innovative technologies to enhance the fan experience and operational efficiency
  • Partnerships: Work closely with the Global Business Ventures and Partnerships team to sell and deliver league partnerships
  • Marketing Oversight: Oversee the marketing strategy and execution in partnership with the CMO of iR to grow the DRL brand and fanbase across all platforms and media channels
  • Financial Management: Manage the financial health of the organization, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, in coordination with iR’s CFO

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience: A minimum of 15 years of executive leadership experience, preferably within sports, entertainment, or technology industries.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or related advanced degree preferred.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead diverse teams and manage cross-functional operations.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong financial management skills with a track record of managing budgets and P&L statements.
  • Strategic Vision: Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • Collaborative Approach: Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
  • Technological Savvy: Strong understanding of digital and innovative technologies.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.

The base pay range for this position is $275,000 - $325,000. The base salary range is applicable across the United States and the offered rate may vary based on factors such as experience, education, market conditions, and location.

Estimated Salary range:

Our salary intelligence, powered by our AI algorithms, has calculated an estimated range for this position between $110,000 - $150,000 . Please note that the actual salary for this position may vary, as it is dependent on various factors including but not limited to experience, location, and market dynamics.
