About the Position

The Golden State Warriors are looking for a Corporate Communications Manager to play a vital role in developing and implementing new strategies to improve business operations and drive external media efforts. In this role, you will use your media relations expertise to support communication efforts. This position reports to the Director, Corporate Communications.

This is a full-time position based onsite in San Francisco, CA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Play an active role in the development of the Warriors business communication goals by focusing on improving publicity for non-basketball initiatives and events for the Warriors, with corporate partners, community relations, marketing, event programming, and other related endeavors
  • Support various Warriors business initiatives within the company’s revenue generating departments (including ticket sales, partnerships and marketing), through PR campaigns and launch events
  • Write and produce related media materials including vital messages, superlatives, media pages, press releases and other media materials as necessary
  • Craft, implement and track public relations plans across all business operations
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with newspaper editors, business writers, news producers and talent, and radio news reporters locally and globally
  • Act as one of the organization’s liaisons to team alumni and legends
  • Provide support to the team with media needs during special events and public appearances
  • Manage 2 employees (Coordinator and Assistant)
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Public Relations/Communications/Journalism, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of public or media relations within sports, busin3ss, and news media in the Bay Area and nationwide
  • Familiarity with sports and entertainment public relations practices highly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to collaborate, influence and build positive relationships with clients and peers at all levels
  • Ability to efficiently lead and prioritize multiple projects at once

Time Commitment

  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as necessary

Compensation

  • $89,000 - 94,000 + Bonus
