Manager, Sr. HR Generalist - NBA 2K League

A joint venture between the NBA and Take-Two Interactive, The League is a first-of-its-kind business that is creating a new model for how energetic, digitally native basketball fans, NBA players, and gaming influencers engage with the NBA and 2K in a way that feels authentic to them. From league operations and live events design to 2K game product integration and entertainment content programming, the NBA2K League covers a wide range of functions and offers many opportunities for top-tier professionals committed to building something special at the intersection of sports and entertainment.   Job Summary The candidate will be responsible for a wide range of HR and administrative tasks as the business grows and scales. This role will act as day-to-day support to all levels of NBA 2K League employees and assist with projects and processes across a full range of HR functions. The role will partner on all human resources activities and cyclical processes including performance management, employee engagement, talent development and year-end processes (promotions process and performance evaluation). Additionally, this role will focus on recruiting, onboarding, and benefits management, with an ability to be a team player and chip in on special projects across the organization. This will entail working directly with the COO, the business operations team, and other leaders in the organization. The ideal candidate will be a team player who has an ability to be flexible and is energized by learning new skills and multitasking.   Major Responsibilities Oversee the design and execution of the NBA 2K League’s onboarding experience, including integration into company processes, technology, and culture Support the creation and execution of the HR strategy; aligning people strategies to overarching NBA 2K League strategic objectives Foster growth, development, and improve retention (e.g. recruitment, promotion process, merit-based awards) Lead the development and implementation of HR initiatives, and programs to support employee engagement Manage all company HR software, ensuring existing systems (e.g., payroll, benefits, document management, recruiting, and other software) are running efficiently, and propose and onboard new software as company grows Manage payroll onboarding and processing Provide benefit plan interpretation, guidance and counsel to employees Manage and lead the annual talent review process for performance management cycle Act as a trusted advisor to employees in the interpretation of HR policies and procedures, and assist in resolution of issues; interpret, coach, and enforce company policies and procedures for consistency and compliance Respond to and take on special projects for a fast-growing digital media company   Required Education/Professional Experience Bachelor’s Degree Previous experience in a startup preferred 3+ years of HR and administrative experience at a quickly scaling or large company   Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes An enthusiastic “roll up your sleeves” mentality Curious thinker and someone that is open to continuous learning! Ability to be flexible and comfortable with changing requirements Well organized with superb attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to execute Experience with payroll processing, workforce management platforms, and administration of health care benefits Effective communicator and ability to draft and distribute employee policies throughout the organization Strong discretionary skills to handle challenging, confidential employee matters in coordination with leadership, as appropriate   Salary Range: $115,000 - $130,000  The NBA does not accept unsolicited resumes from search firms or any other third parties.
