Your mission will be to improve the mechanical design, design-to-cost and design for manufacturing of the company products. You will troubleshoot and find solutions to the component manufacturing, product assembly and supplier quality issues that may arise with the industrialization of innovative hardware products. You will report to the manufacturing manager and will co-work on a regular basis with the mechanical design team based in Paris.
Job duties
- Understand, analyse and improve the mechanical design of our products in coordination with the Product Development Team in Paris.
- New product design : CAD, quality, costs, lead-times.
- Co-design and technical discussions with suppliers. Be the interface between suppliers and Paris Product Development Team.
- Anticipate, manage and solve manufacturing, assembly and quality problems happening on the production lines and component manufacturers.
- Help setup and ramp-up the production lines during the NPI stages of the product development cycle in cooperation with our contract manufacturers.
- Analyse data from the production lines, optimize mass production efficiency and cost.
- Design production lines jigs and tools to help with product assembly and testing.
Requirements
- You graduated with a bachelor BSc or master MSc in Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Ideally, you have past experience with consumer electronics mechanical design, assembly and testing.
- Ideally, you have past experience in manufacturing processed and plastic injection.
- Experience with CAD (Onshape, Solidworks, …) and Office Pack (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, …)
- You are a passionate individual with strong problem solving skills and an autonomous mindset.
- Fluency in English (written & spoken) is required.
- Fluency in Chinese Mandarin is a strong plus. Fluency in French is a plus.

Localisation
The position is based in the newly opened Withings office in Shenzhen Nanshan area in Guangdong province. Frequent travels within China (Guangdong, Jiangsu, Hunan provinces and Hong Kong) are to be expected. International trips to France may occur.
