About the Role

FightCamp is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Human Resources Clerk to join our HR team. The ideal candidate will have prior entry level HR experience and be familiar with Google Suite, Slack, and MS Office. This role involves a variety of clerical and administrative tasks that support our HR department's operations. This role reports to the Senior HR Specialist. The HR clerk will work out of FightCamp's offices in Costa Mesa, California. The role is a part-time role up to 20 hours per week. The salary for the role ranges from $19 to $25 per hour.

What You Will Do
  • Process and manage inbound and outbound mail, including priority post, packages, forwarding mail to appropriate person, and mailing checks and other correspondence as needed.
  • Assist with payroll duties, such as following up with employees to ensure timely submission of time cards and uploading gym reimbursements for employees in Namely and/or Payworks.
  • Process credit card expense reports in Expensify for the VP of People and other executives as required.
  • Send out celebration announcements via Slack for birthdays, anniversaries, and other milestones.
  • Order office supplies and maintain inventory within budget.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for interview candidates.
  • Respond to routine employee questions regarding benefits, payroll, and other HR-related inquiries.
  • Open and manage ticket requests with BoxIt (third party solution for laptop and office software management) for general service requests and when onboarding or off-boarding employees.
  • Ensure all laptops are returned and subscriptions turned off for departing employees.
  • Ensure items on the new hire and on the termination checklist are completed.
  • Complete verifications of employment for current and former employees.
  • Send out and follow up on documents to be signed via DocuSign (e.g., NDA forms).
  • Remind employees of past-due training assignments.
  • Other job duties as required.

  • Requirements
  • 1-3 years experience in HR Administration or People Operations - preferably within a high-growth startup. 
  • Sound, mature judgment with the ability to handle confidential information and sensitive situations.
  • Familiarity with contemporary HR and Payroll systems.
  • Creative, innovative, passionate.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with Namely and experience processing payroll is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in startup culture - comfortable with ambiguity and non-stop problem solving, building, and action.
  • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures.
  • Sound knowledge of federal and state employment and labor laws is helpful. 
  • Approachability; be able to emotionally connect with employees and establish a rapport.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Slack, and MS Office.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize responsibilities.
