As a Performance Coach based at our Berlin performance facility, you’ll help build a high-performance environment for one of our flagship professional teams.

Working closely with Fnatic team management and Performance Lead, you’ll monitor team performance and devise individual plans to support ongoing growth and development. You’ll also have a key role to play in setting the tone of the day-to-day environment, and ensuring it is is one conducive to performing at the highest level.

Most importantly, you’ll be a passionate, collaborative member of the team driven to support the success of our elite teams!

The role is offered on an initial fixed-term basis for circa six months (subject to candidate's agreed start date); with strong prospects of extension into an indefinite role.

Your mission is to:
  • Develop comprehensive performance plans for at squad and individual level for assigned Fnatic Pro-Gaming teams, including: strategy and integration of Key Performance Indicators; development areas (incl. risk assessment); goal setting; software/tech and performance tools; structure and processes
  • Develop Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and conduct one-to-one coaching sessions with players and coaching staff
  • Monitor achievement of player/team performance goals, and support tracking through monthly review sessions
  • Drive awareness of physical and mental training practices, and facilitate related activities
  • Complete weekly feedback reports and written individual evaluations for team members
  • Provide support to Fnatic’s Pro-Gaming management to facilitate bootcamps, including on-site participation
  • Monitor the health and wellbeing status of team members to tailor timely advice, and notify Fnatic team management of potential issues/risk factors proactively
  • Support Fnatic’s in-game coaches on performance initiatives (ie. group mental work, team building) that support in-game execution
  • Support dispute resolution within the team as required, and advise on solutions to avoid repeat incidents
  • Discover and test performance innovations; and report back to Pro-Gaming management on initiatives that may be applicable cross-team
  • Participate in workgroups (occasionally on-site) to support Fnatic planning for growth and scale of its performance infrastructure
  • Manage ad-hoc performance projects as defined by your manager

  • We're looking for:
  • Demonstrated achievement (ideally 3+ years) within a high performance environment (not limited to esports) with both teams and individuals
  • Experience coaching or mentoring individuals, with a track record of improving outcomes through process
  • Undergraduate Degree (or higher) in a Sports Science related subject (e.g. sports psychology, coaching, nutrition, strength & conditioning) and/or hold accreditation by an acknowledged professional body
  • A highly motivated individual who can work autonomously on projects, with meticulous organisation
  • Willingness to travel overseas to esports events as required
  • A natural people person with high EQ; able to deal with issues with sensitivity and tact
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to consider Pro-Gaming issues within the broader context of the business
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English, other languages desirable
