Summary

As a Senior Director of Product Management, you will be the driving force behind the development and optimization of our subscription-based fan facing experience NFL+. You will lead a talented team of product managers responsible for executing the product and experience vision across Web, Mobile, Tablet, Connected Devices and Smart TVs. This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and leverage your deep understanding of media, subscription-based products to deliver exceptional user experiences both in and out of season. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing strong product management teams, a collaborative approach to working with design and engineering, and a strong background in media subscription services.

 

Responsibilities

  • Define Product Strategy: Working with a variety of stakeholders across the NFL, develop and execute the product strategy for our fan facing experiences. With a focus on delivering compelling sports content and building awareness for our premium assets and subscription business. This role must help strike a balance of supporting League initiatives, Ad Sales, Business Partners, Clubs and our Direct-to-Consumer offering while also being focused on the best experience for our fans.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with engineering, design, content, marketing, direct-to-consumer, ad sales, legal and business development teams to define the long-term strategy and tactics to support our many business priorities. To guide and support the platforms product management team to alignment around these long-term strategies.
  • Market Research and Analysis: In collaboration with User Research, Strategy, and Data and Analytics conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive threats in the media subscription landscape.
  • User-Centric Approach: Champion a user-centric approach to product development, incorporating user feedback, usability testing, and data analysis to continually improve and refine our platforms and subscription experiences.
  • Performance Measurement: Define key performance metrics and utilize data-driven insights to measure the success of our Platform products and subscription business. Champion the use of insights to drive towards data driven decisioning.
  • Team Leadership: Subscribing to a servant leadership philosophy, help guide a talented team of product managers to reach their full potential. Develops, directs, coaches, mentors, and aligns team members to be in line with the mission, vision, values, goals, and performance standards set for the organization. Foster and develop a culture where behaviors are modelled to align with our leadership attributes and celebrated
  • Domain Skills: A deep understanding of agile software development practices. Strong facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to coach others. A deep understanding of audience acquisition tactics in support of marketing and subscription businesses.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on media distribution, subscription services, and preferably in the sports industry.
  • Deep understanding of sports media and subscription content consumption habits.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams and delivering high-quality consumer experiences.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using data to drive product decisions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience working in an agile development environment.
  • Comfortable working in a matrixed product development organization where dependency management is key.

 

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week

 

Salary / Pay Range

This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the location(s) specified. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range. 

 

Salary
$200,000$240,000 USD
