The Programmability team develops software ecosystems of the embedded scripting languages in the Roblox engine. To make tomorrow's top games, developers on the Roblox platform need more than just a scripting environment that works–they need advanced programming interfaces, efficient set of script libraries, comprehensive sets of development tools, and an ultra-fast, multithreaded runtime. Join our team and help drive the development of a new set of programming interfaces and advanced tooling features that will be used by millions of developers daily. You will be part of our Game Engine Programmability team.

As a Senior Engineering Manager on the Programmability team,

You Will:

Lead, support, and grow a team of engineers to build design and development of creator programming languages, compilers, runtime tools and models
Mentor engineers and team leads to make sure your team's expertise grows over time
Work with product partners to define the roadmap and lead the project execution
Collaborate with other engineering teams, product, and design to improve the existing and develop new functionality, pipelines, and workflow
Be guided by our company vision to put the Roblox community first and represent us through thought leadership

You Have:

5+ years of managing experience and solid track record of hiring and growing a high performing engineering team.
Solid experience maintaining and evolving large-scale game engines, programming language tools or similar technologies.
Clear vision and strong execution to handle tactical issues requiring immediate attention and diverse feature requests requiring a firm grasp of the long view.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

Annual Salary Range

$331,640—$383,910 USD

Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
