Role overview:

The role is responsible for the overall finance and accounting functions of 3 countries, Singapore, Taiwan, and Hong Kong
Drive and support Asia finance on operation alignments and internal control awareness.
Manage accounting teams located in Singapore, Taiwan, and Hong Kong
Report to the head of Asia finance but also connecting with different finance teams across the world.

What you'll be doing:

Accounting

Provide leadership to the team on all accounting matters and FRS updates
Calculate yearly recharge amount for inter-company services (APAC/ Asia Hub / PSN / PC)
Ensure timely Month-End Close and Review Flux Analysis
Review Journals and Balance Sheet Schedule
Review Invoices/ Internal Consumptions/ Customer Debit Notes & Credit Notes
Drive operational improvements for existing processes to improve accuracy and speed and reduce volume.
Quarterly review of inventory devaluation

Banking & Treasury

Review and approve payment batches on both internal and external banking platform.
Review monthly cashflow to ensure cash positions within overdraft limit and sufficient funds in both internal and external banks for operations.
Collaborate with Global Treasury team on overdraft limits, hedge requirements, and yearly dividends.

Management Reporting

Quarterly reporting for SEA business performances to Senior Management

Financial Planning & Analysis

Collaborate with other departments and FP&A teams to ensure accurate reporting in system for Budgeting and Forecasting
Prepare regional finance cost centre annual budget and quarter forecasts.

Financial Reporting

Review TANGO packages and Group Reporting for Sony group consolidation
Review Intercompany Reconciliation submissions (monthly)
Liaise with external auditors on timely statutory financial documents and ensure compliance with accounting standards for Singapore and Hong Kong
Coordinate with external auditors and territory operation teams on annually inventory count for Singapore.
Liaise with Corporate Secretary on company matters in Singapore.

Taxation

Liaise with tax consultant on transfer pricing documentation, tax computation and corporate income tax return.
Quarterly meeting with Global Tax Office (GTO) team to discuss tax related matters
Review Quarterly GST Reports to ensure accurate reporting aligned with regulations, and liaise with tax consultant for GST Audit
Collaborate with GTO team on transfer pricing thresholds and calculate upstream and downstream transfer pricing compensations at year end
Connect with tax consultancy on tax related enquiries and tax authority’s investigation.

Internal controls and Governance

Annual review of customers’ credit limit setting
Review and approve customer credit block request
Annual review of vendor master and request for deactivation for inactive vendors
Submit self-assessment for finance policy and procedures.
Review and approve master data creation of new vendors/customers/cost centres/internal orders

What we're looking for:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in a Global company
Experience in working and leading teams in subsidiaries or multiple territories
Excellent business partnering skills across a range of team members, strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting standards.
Project management / consultant skills with experience of motivating changes
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships.
SAP / BW experience with experience of planning tools including their development and project management preferred. Advanced knowledge of Excel

Organized self-starter, with drive and ambition who thrives under pressure, and is capable of expertly working alongside the most senior partners across the wider business.
Intellectual bandwidth to manage multiple team members across geographies and functional specialisms.
Strong written & verbal communication skills, including the ability to present detailed analysis.
