We’re looking for a friendly, engaging entry-level Service Desk Support Engineer to provide professional and proactive service in our busy office environment.

You’ll be joining our onsite IT service desk team and supporting colleagues with end-user support for hardware, software, infrastructure, and telephony requests. Our IT team supports up to 500 desktop users and delivers IT support to the business as a service.

This role is based at our Southbank office (SE1 9LS) 4 days a week (Mon-Fri), following a shift rota that includes: Early shift: 8am-4pm, Middle shift: 9:30am - 5:30pm and Late shift: 12pm - 8pm.

You’ll also need to be available to cover one weekend per month (remotely) from 8am-8pm.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assist in administering user accounts using Active Directory for our Windows network, Google Admin for Gmail and Google Docs, and in-house systems.
  • Help oversee mobile device assets, providing support and logging their status throughout their lifecycle.
  • Assist with managing orders for consumables, hardware, and software.
  • Help keep support and operational procedure documents up to date.
  • Support maintaining the Configuration Management Database for Racing Post assets.
  • Learn and utilise ITIL Incident Management processes using a Service Management toolset.
  • Assist in ensuring the availability of Racing Post's newspaper production, B2B, and digital presence for our public customers and third-party suppliers.

Requirements

  • Friendly, engaging, and supportive in resolving technical hardware issues with excellent communication skills.
  • You're passionate about learning new technologies and developing your skills.
  • You have some IT knowledge and troubleshooting skills, ideally including: Windows 10, Mac OS, MS Office, Internet browsers (Chrome, IE, Firefox), Gmail and Google Apps.

Bonus points if you have: 

    • An IT qualification or ITIL V3 / higher certification.
    • Exposure to Google Apps for Business and/or other cloud-based technologies.
    • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
