Honeybee Benefits is our next generation benefits platform built for today’s modern workforce that empowers employers to compete better for talent.

We are looking for a Backend Developer who will be a key part of the Honeybee development team. You will be working closely with our Software Development Manager, who leads the software development team, and will have tremendous influence over the direction, architecture, and development of the product. As a senior resource on the team, you will be relied upon to produce excellent quality code and design scalable / sustainable architect for our back-end stack.

Role in a nutshell:

Work alongside product architects and developers to build (design, develop, test) new product features

Deliver thoroughly tested and functional code.

Demonstrate a thorough understanding of software development concepts and design principles.

Demonstrate a thorough understanding of complex benefits administration technology and implementation concepts.

Completes product development and quality control testing based on business requirements and project timelines.

Work with team members to understand business requirements and participate in software design.

Work with the development team in the implementation of new technologies and components. Find innovative solutions to help solve problems – new and old.

Debug and resolve production issues as required.

Provide accurate estimates of work effort and be accountable to those estimates.

Demonstrate a high level of technical and professional knowledge and quickly assimilate new knowledge.

Identify gaps in existing solutions and work with leadership to build out resolutions to fill those gaps.

Quickly escalates any identified risks or issues to a project based on product configuration requirements to project management and management.

Organizes, investigates, and resolves assigned work in a timely and effective manner.

Provides updates on accomplishments, issues, and future activities of assigned projects regularly.

Completes other tasks and projects as required.

What we are looking for:

Has 3-5 years of experiences developing SQL heavy software products, ideally with at least 1 year of that using Oracle

Has 1-3 years of experiences in a broad range of technologies, including back-end, cloud infrastructure, and web front-end

Has excellent command of SQL, .NET, and fundamental computer science concepts

Understands all layers of software from top to bottom with the ability to troubleshoot at any layer

Experience with Oracle Application Express and Oracle Forms is a big plus

Cares about writing good, efficient, and well-maintained code that strikes a sensible balance between productivity and quality

Is experienced in shipping digital products from end-to-end including design, architecture, code, test, build, release, updates & fixes. We use a .NET back-end.
