About BLAST: BLAST is a premier esports company, renowned for delivering high-quality live esports events to a global audience. We are committed to pushing the boundaries of live broadcast production and are seeking a Sound Engineer to join our dynamic team.

Role Overview: As a Sound Engineer at BLAST, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our live broadcasts meet the highest standards of audio excellence. You will be responsible for managing and operating state-of-the-art audio equipment and technology during our esports events, ensuring seamless audio experiences for our viewers.
You will be working closely together with some of the industry brilliant minds and for a more junior person this would be an opportunity to learn from the best

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Sound Engineer, preferably in a live broadcast environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure during live events.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Flexibility to travel and work extended hours, including weekends, as required by event schedules.


    Key Responsibilities:
    • Operate and manage SSL System T consoles, ensuring optimal sound quality for live broadcasts.
    • Utilize Riedel intercom systems for efficient communication during events.
    • Integrate and manage audio playback with Qlab.
    • Handle Glensound commentary systems and Shure wireless microphones for flawless audio capture.
    • Implement and troubleshoot Dante and AES 67 network protocols to ensure robust and reliable audio networking.
    • Collaborate with the production team to execute precise audio cues and maintain consistent sound levels.
    • Conduct pre-event audio checks and live troubleshooting to address any issues promptly.
    • Maintain and manage audio equipment inventory, ensuring all gear is in excellent working condition.


    • Requirements:
      • Proven experience as a Sound Engineer, preferably in a live broadcast environment.
      • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure during live events.
      • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
      • Flexibility to travel and work extended hours, including weekends, as required by event schedules.
    • Preferred Qualifications:
      • Proficiency with SSL System T consoles and experience with Riedel intercom systems, Qlab, Glensound commentary systems, and Shure wireless microphones.
      • Knowledge of Dante and AES 67 network protocols would be an advantage
      • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure during live events.
      • Experience in esports production.
      • Certifications or formal training in audio engineering or related fields.
