Overview

Come be a part of a team of designers passionate about creating beautiful and inspiring multi-platform design experiences for the world’s most advanced home gym.

As Staff Product Designer–Content Experience, you will be responsible for the User Experience design of Tonal’s growing library of workout content, from multi-week strength training programs, additional modalities such as yoga, music, and content presentation and merchandising in the product experience. Your mission will be to deeply understand the needs and behaviors of our members, our business needs, and to help Tonal improve and design innovative experiences that our members will love. You will be responsible for design at every stage of product development from concept to stakeholder alignment, through launch, and beyond.

For this position, we are looking for people who are strategic in their design approach, who know how to involve research and move projects forward, who can holistically think about the customer journey, and innovate.

What You Will Do

Set the vision and direction for our members’ experience workout content, working closely with our cross-functional leads in the Product Management, Engineering, Content and Performance teams.

Lead with a human-centered design approach and connect user needs with business goals through design.

Raise the bar for what it means to deliver engaging workout content.

Be responsible for content merchandising in product and make it easy to find and navigate for our members.

Partner closely with the Content and Curriculum teams.

Be able to distill complex and ambiguous problems such as information architecture into clear synthesized solutions for the user.

Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into valuable experiences for Tonal members.

Embody and establish best practices for the design team, acting as a mentor to fellow designers. Inspire the team leading by example.

Coordinate the product integration of Content assets such as coaches, programs and moves photography from a design standpoint, able to provide a point of view on the Creative Direction and seasonal relevant wardrobe color pallets.

Drive high-level strategic decisions with the rest of the product and design teams.

Work closely with our User Experience Research team and constantly inform design decisions with user insights.

Lead projects with an iterative design mindset: take a “make-to-learn” approach by sketching, prototyping and evaluation feedback loops.

Design across our ecosystem of Trainer, Mobile and Wearables platforms.

Use a variety of human-centered design methodologies and deliverables. For instance, journey mapping, facilitating team brainstorms, participating in and synthesizing research, framework design, and prototyping.

Share concepts and design with Product and Design leadership, iterating at a rapid pace with feedback from every discipline.

Make Tonal exceptional: Contribute ideas and features to the product roadmap based on research data and insights, as well as from your observed experience with Tonal.

Define the future of connected home fitness.

Who You Are

10+ years relevant experience as a Product Designer, UX Designer, or UI Designer with a focus on innovative digital products that have been released to market.

Fully proficient in Figma, Adobe Suite and digital prototyping tools (Principle, Rive, AfterEffects, or the like).

Proven ability to release experiences and products people love.

Friendly, collaborative, and a team player above all else.

A master collaborator with fellow team members across a diverse range of skills, levels and perspectives.

You love big ideas and also enjoy the details. You demonstrate a capacity and enthusiasm for the full spectrum of design.

You can lay the groundwork to set new problem spaces up for success, and provide exceptional hands-on execution.

Fluency in user-centered design methods and experience to know which to use when

A master storyteller; know how to frame a problem and share solutions that tackle it, keeping leadership on board and with you along the way.

An innovative thinker and dreamer who challenges the status quo.

Experience in fitness and or luxury/premium sectors a plus.

Experience with products that have physical-digital components (HW-SW) a plus.

The range of base salary for the position is between $200,000 - $232,000 USD plus equity and benefits. We take into consideration an individual’s background, experience, and location in determining their salary. This role is also eligible for health insurance, retirement savings benefits, life insurance and disability benefits, flexible paid time off, parental leave, and other additional benefits.

Please note that the actual salary for this position may vary, as it is dependent on various factors including but not limited to experience, location, and market dynamics.
