The Opportunity
We are looking for a skilled Video Software Engineer to join our team in Copenhagen. You’ll be working at the intersection of hardware and software, building custom GStreamer plug-ins, optimizing media pipelines, and shaping how video is processed both on-device and in the cloud. With powerful cameras, cutting-edge compute, and a cross-functional team of experts around you, this is an opportunity to rethink real-time video processing at scale.
What You Will Do
Design and develop video/audio processing components with GStreamer, targeting both cloud and embedded environments.
Collaborate closely with firmware, AI, cloud platform, and hardware teams to ensure seamless video workflows across the full capture-to-playback pipeline.
Contribute to building software that maximizes the video quality-to-cost ratio, with a focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Explore and implement new ways to distribute processing between edge and cloud as our camera hardware evolves.
Participate in technical reviews, drive architectural discussions, and shape the future of video processing at Veo.
Continuously analyze and refine video performance, leveraging data and real-world use cases to guide improvements.
What You Could Bring
Solid experience in Software engineering and at least 2+ years of hands-on experience with GStreamer with solid understanding of video/audio encoding and decoding.
Proficiency with C++ or Rust and scripting in Python.
Familiarity with GPU programming (CUDA, HIP, Vulkan) and interest in optimizing media pipelines.
Experience in cloud-based media processing (AWS or similar) or embedded systems development.
Understanding of ISP pipelines, edge computing, and performance tuning for camera hardware.
Exposure to or interest in real-time graphics, game engine workflows, or physics-based simulations.
A collaborative mindset and a strong sense of ownership.
Curiosity for how things work and a desire to solve complex problems with practical well thought-out solutions.
