Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, the Vice President of Hardware Products will drive the vision and product strategy for Ōura’s current and future generation hardware products. You will scale and expand our hardware product lineup and lead the product team in discovering, developing, and delivering groundbreaking new hardware products that our customers will love. This leader will be responsible for attracting and retaining high-caliber talent, motivating high-output teams, and cultivating a creative and passionate culture. You will work alongside cross-functional leaders in engineering, industrial design, science, commercial, finance and marketing teams to craft groundbreaking ideas into tangible products that excite the world.

  • For Finland, it will be a hybrid role based in our Oulu or Helsinki offices, with the ability to travel to San Diego other US hubs
  • For the US, preferably near one of our office hubs in San Francisco, San Diego, New York, or Boston, with the ability to travel to our Finland offices.

What you will do: 

  • Drive and oversee the vision and product strategy of Oura’s rings, accessories, and future technologies. 
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Science and Design teams to define and drive roadmaps for all existing and new hardware products
  • Together with your team, own the voice of the customer and business from discovery to delivery to maximize company impact and customer satisfaction.
  • Craft a unique product story rooted in deep customer insights, including key benefits, requirements, and North Star goals to solve big customer pain points. 
  • Work closely with product marketing and B2B teams to craft a compelling narrative that transforms unique technical capabilities into simple, clear and compelling stories
  • Contribute your expertise and insights to strategic scenarios and portfolio decisions, to exponentially grow our category leadership and extend to new customers.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, cross-functional collaboration and efficient execution across all product development functions
  • Help shape and refine the product team’s methodology while leveraging product and industry best practices.

Requirements

We would love to have you on our team if you have:

  • 15+ years of direct experience in product management with a proven track record of delivering hardware products with high business impact and outstanding customer satisfaction.
  • Proven track record of managing and launching products that have significantly impacted the business in past roles.
  • Passion for using technology to help people lead healthier lives and a personal desire to use products to develop a strong intuition and conviction. 
  • Ability to combine consumer, technology, and business insights into a simple narrative  that excited people, and with fluency in presenting to Board, Executive teams and external partners
  • Strong analytical abilities and an uncompromising attention to detail with the ability to operate seamlessly between highly detailed and technical situations as well as strategic business situations
  • The ability to think clearly to see the big picture and innovate down to the details. 
  • Have built high-performing teams by mentoring, developing, and balancing retention with attracting new talent
  • Unmatched ability to get things done, move mountains, roll up your sleeves and unblock tricky situations with empathy, intelligence and drive. 
  • Humble but driven leader who listens first, but is not afraid to challenge assumptions and drive change
  • Excellent written and presentation skills that creates clear thinking, high-quality discussions, and effective decision-making among large groups.
  • A natural tendency to do something as well as it can possibly be done, try new things and learn quickly from failed experiments.

Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates' pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

  • Region 1 $271,000 - $319,000
  • Region 2 $257,450 - $303,050
  • Region 3 $243,900 - $287,100
