Tipico is looking for an (AWS) Site Reliability Engineer (Java Platform) to join our team. Your playing field:  

• You are running the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health 
• You are building software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications 
• You are improving the reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions 
• You are Measuring and optimising system performance with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating for continuous improvement 
• You are providing primary operational support and engineering for multiple large-scale distributed software applications 
• You are gathering and analysing metrics from operating systems as well as applications to assist in performance tuning and fault-finding;  
• You are partnering with development teams to improve services  
• You are participating in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning 
• You are creating sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts; 
• You are balancing feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service-level objectives 

Which skills should you bring to the pitch:  

• Education. Bachelor/master’s degree in computer science or an equivalent degree  
• Experience. 2+ years of experience in similar positions like Senior Software Developer or Performance Lab Engineer. 
• Programming Skills. You can program (structured and OOP) using one or more high-level languages, such as Java, JavaScript and Python  
• Subject Matter Expert. You are an expert in cloud computing technologies (AWS) 
• You have solid knowledge and experience working with Kubernetes (administration, optimisation, CRDs)  
• Proficiency in CI/CD and provisioning tools (GitHub actions, Terraform).  
• Issues are challenges for you. You have a proactive approach in identifying problems, performance bottlenecks, and areas for improvement. 
• Benefit. Vendor certifications (AWS) or equivalent, Experience in a Java-based development environment (Java Background is of benefit)  
• Language skills. You are fluent in English. If you have a working knowledge of German, it would be an advantage
