CLIENT SERVICES / Responsible for leading Octagon’s client business and day-to-day management of client’s team sports partnerships.

Our client is an award-winning global Payment Technology brand known for their iconic brand marketing position and initiatives. Their sponsorship programming covers various properties, ambassadors, and segments, showcasing their diversity and market strength.

As the Account Director, you will lead key team sports partnerships and successfully contribute to the future growth of our client's sponsorship portfolio.

Ideal candidates for this role should be someone with experience leading and activating major sponsorship programs, coupled with a customer-centric mindset possessing the social savvy required to work across multiple marketing disciplines. A background in professional team-side sports sponsorship experience is ideal.

This position requires providing leadership to our team’s delivery of intuitive client service, concept and presentation development, strategic planning and development, project management, event management with on-site support, asset utilization, agency integration, and measurement of sponsorship initiatives.

The work you’ll do

• Lead day-to-day management of property and talent relationships
• Serve as a reliable agency contact for client sponsorship team, internal client departments, and agency partners
• Develop, coordinate, and execute integrated sponsorship activations and events, initiatives, and campaigns using client’s sponsorship portfolio and assets
• Support and grow key relationships with property partners and vendors
• Coordinate projects with internal resources and external vendors, such as merchandise, creative, and digital teams
• Prepare program documentation and wrap-up reports including results tracking for season and key events
• Manage and participate in weekly status meetings by crafting agendas, driving the discussion, and providing recap summaries
• Oversee website-driven partnership content/offers with property partners
• Assist in asset management (i.e., audit compliance, ticket allocations, and financial tracking)
• Oversight and management of direct report(s), while also supporting career development

Who we’re looking for

• 6+ years of experience, preferably within either the sponsorship properties, leagues, teams/clubs, ambassadors and/or influencers. Payment Services industry experience/knowledge a plus
• A strong understanding of the sports sponsorship space required
• Capacity to become knowledgeable on our client’s industry, brand, and product offering
• Experience in creating exceptional integrated marketing programming in a client-facing role
• Superior organizational skills with demonstrated initiative, ability to effectively problem solve and work effectively under pressure
• Strong self-starter with excellent team dynamics; exceptional sense to be proactive and jump in wherever needed
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team while also able to solve problems effectively and independently
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
• Exceptional work ethic, strong desire to succeed, and willingness to learn – intellectually curious
• Outstanding proficiency with Microsoft Office Software (specifically PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)
• Ability and flexibility to travel domestically with weekend and/or holiday work as needed (approximately 20-25%)

The base range for this position is $70,000 - 90,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure, and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
