👀 The Role

Position: AFC Analyst

Team: Compliance

Location: Century City, Cape Town, South Africa (Full time office-based)

Salary: R336000 - R396000 per year

We’re scaling our Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) function at Midnite as we continue to grow. We’re looking for an AFC Analyst to play a key role in protecting the business from financial crime risks, including money laundering, fraud, and regulatory breaches. This role sits at the heart of Operational Compliance, balancing regulatory excellence with commercial awareness as we scale.

Requirements

You will:

• Conduct AML and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews triggered across the customer lifecycle
• Assess alerts relating to PEPs, sanctions, KYC mismatches, forged documentation, and behavioural risk indicators
• Review ongoing monitoring triggers such as significant deposits and withdrawals
• Analyse financial documentation and customer data to determine appropriate next steps
• Make independent, risk-based decisions on the majority of cases, escalating complex matters where required
• Prepare structured case summaries and support SAR/STR drafting
• Handle customer interactions via calls, chat, and email in a compliant and professional manner
• Collaborate with Key Accounts, Safer Gambling, and Player Support teams on escalations
• Maintain high quality standards while meeting quantity and timeliness KPIs
• Contribute to improving AFC processes as the business continues to grow
  

The next Midniter:

• 1+ year experience in AML, EDD, or financial crime investigations
• Foundational understanding of UK Money Laundering Regulations (POCA, MLR 2017, LCCP, FATF guidance)
• Experience reviewing customer accounts in a regulated environment (ideally iGaming or financial services)
• Experience analysing and interpreting data to support risk-based decisions
• Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
• Commercially aware and able to see the bigger picture
• Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively within a team
• Sound judgment and ability to make decisions with appropriate escalation
• Clear and professional written and verbal communication
• Accountable, proactive, and open to feedback
