We’re looking for a motivated and curious AI & Data Science Associate to join our team in Los Angeles. This role is designed for someone excited by the possibilities of AI and machine learning, eager to learn, and ready to contribute across a variety of initiatives before honing in on a specialty.
You’ll work on projects that enhance player experiences through personalization and creativity, while also streamlining operations by building tools and systems that empower Jam City’s internal teams. Along the way, you’ll gain hands-on experience with fine-tuning models, experimenting with generative AI, developing agentic systems, and contributing to data-driven solutions that support both our players and our teams.
Location: Los Angeles (Hybrid with in-office flexibility)
RESPONSIBILITIESAI Development & Innovation:Adapt and fine-tune LLMs to support in-game experiences and operational needs.Experiment with generative AI applications (text, image, video, animation) that push creative and gameplay boundaries.Explore and support the design of agentic AI systems that automate workflows and empower creative and operations teams.Data Science Applications:Partner with senior data scientists to prototype and apply models that personalize experiences for players and improve decision-making for teams.Contribute to building data pipelines, tools, and systems that translate data into actionable insights.Support applied AI and ML workflows that have real-world impact across Jam City’s games and operations.Collaboration & Team Culture:Work closely with game studios, product, marketing, and central teams to ensure AI and data solutions deliver meaningful value.Communicate insights clearly through documentation, presentations, and collaboration.Be a supportive teammate — curious, positive, and eager to learn in a dynamic environment.WHO YOU AREEducation: Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, AI/ML, Applied Math, Engineering, or a related technical field.Experience: Exposure to AI, machine learning, and data science, developed through a mix of research, coursework, professional projects, or independent exploration. The range listed is just one component of Jam City's total compensation package for employees, which may also include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, certifications, location, business needs, or market demands. This range is based on a full-time position. This range may be modified in the future. In addition, Jam City provides a variety of benefits to employees, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan, life, disability, and accident insurance. Pay Range: $100,000 — $120,000 salary per year.
