Job Description

As an Applications Specialist at WHOOP, you will be part of our Corporate IT team.  Your duties would revolve primarily around maintaining our SaaS applications, reporting, integrations, user management, and maintaining/improving security standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Providing technical support for various internal applications and software systems. This includes troubleshooting issues, answering questions, and assisting users.
  • Monitoring application performance and reliability. Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and fix any technical issues with software applications.
  • Integrate and manage single sign-on (SSO) solutions, such as Okta, to streamline user access and enhance security for multiple SaaS applications.
  • Lead or assist in platform consolidation projects, such as migrating data and users from one application to another.
  • Assist in the implementation of new software applications, including testing, training, and providing ongoing support.
  • Develop and implement automated processes to streamline employee onboarding and offboarding, including provisioning and deprovisioning user accounts, assigning permissions, and distributing necessary information.
  • Developing training materials and documentation for applications. 
  • Liaising with software vendors and external IT consultants as needed. Report any critical software issues and ensure they are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Developing custom applications or integrations as required using languages like JavaScript, SQL, etc. Write scripts and programs to optimize business processes.
  • Assist in enhancing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) by identifying roles and responsibilities, defining access rules, and implementing RBAC policies within applications. 
  • Manage user access, ensuring compliance with RBAC standards and best practices such as least privilage
  • Manage and maintain small subset of on-prem servers, including backups, patching, performance monitoring and troubleshooting issues to ensure the reliability and security of the on-prem environment.
  • Keeping management and stakeholders informed about the performance and status of key software applications. Provide reports on various application metrics and statistics. 
  • Staying up-to-date with advancements in software, applications, and IT systems. Continuously improve knowledge and skills through ongoing learning and development.
  • Ensure the security and governance of applications by conducting regular assessments, implementing security best practices, and monitoring for threats.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and be available to work off-hours as needed to address critical application issues and perform maintenance or updates.

  • QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5+ years of experience providing IT support, preferably in an applications specialist role.
  • Strong knowledge of various software applications and operating systems.
  • Experience with SSO solutions (e.g., Okta) and MDM tools (e.g., Kandji, JAMF, InTune).
  • Experience with platform migration and application implementation projects.
  • Proficiency in scripting language preferred e.g. Python, Bash, Powershell, SQL, JavaScript, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to build positive relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • On-call experience is preferred.
