Title: Assistant Athletic Trainer Department: Basketball Operations – Stockton Kings Reports To: Head Athletic Trainer FLSA Status: Exempt Employment Term: Seasonal through two (2) weeks following the conclusion of the 2025–26 Sacramento Kings NBA season.
The Assistant Athletic Trainer, under the supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer, will support the daily operations of the Stockton Kings training room and provide comprehensive athletic training services to optimize player health and performance during the 2025–26 season.
Responsibilities
include preparing athletes for practices and games, administering first aid and acute injury/illness care, maintaining accurate medical and treatment records, and assisting with rehabilitation and performance programming.The role also requires collaboration with strength and conditioning staff and may involve equipment management.Essential Job Functions:
The Assistant Athletic Trainer must perform duties as assigned by the team’s Head Athletic Trainer or Front Office, including the following: Practice the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of NBA G League personnel from injuries; Perform athletic training procedures on players including preventative treatment, taping, bandaging, and acute injury/illness care, during training and games
" Partner with Head Athletic Trainer in preparing the team for practice and games Assist with assessing and screening players according to department principles and standards as established by the Head Athletic Trainer Keep current and comprehensive electronic records of player injuries/illnesses and treatments on the team's electronic medical records software
" Manage and upload all medical records, medical tests, and injury and rehabilitation information related to players to the League’s electronic medical record system (the “EMR/ARMS”); Order and maintain training room inventory of medical supplies Attend all League-mandated Athletic Trainer’s Meetings Performs all other duties as assigned.• Required Education and Experience
Graduated from a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, Kinesiology, or a related field.
" At least 1 year of " experience of relative experience. Must be certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) and hold a current certification in Cardiac Basic Life

Solid understanding of human anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and exercise science.
" Familiarity with common sports-related injuries, injury prevention strategies, and rehabilitation techniques.• Basic knowledge of emergency medical procedures and protocols. Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and medical documentation.• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with athletes, coaching staff, and medical team members.
