Overview:

The Assistant Innovation Textile Developer supports Alo Yoga’s material ecosystem and innovation initiatives. This role focuses on enabling the early stages of concepting, research, and material exploration, while maintaining organization across seasonal projects. Acting as a connector between mills, innovation partners, and internal teams, the Assistant ensures smooth flow of information, samples, and documentation to advance Alo’s material pipeline.

Responsibilities:

Material Development Assistance

• Partner with Developers to support seasonal projects, ensuring swatches, yardage, and material packages are documented and delivered on time.
• Maintain trackers for briefs, supplier programs, and advanced concept initiatives.
• Prepare seasonal innovation binders, mood boards, and storyboards to visualize new concepts for Design and Leadership.

Innovation Support

• Assist in organizing and maintaining the innovation library (physical and digital), ensuring materials are categorized, accessible, and regularly updated.
• Support innovation scouting by consolidating mill capabilities, trend insights, and supplier innovation submissions.

Cross-Functional Integration

• Collaborate with Design, Product Development, and Sourcing to align innovation materials with seasonal briefs and brand direction.
• Assist in preparation for mill visits, fabric fairs, and vendor meetings, ensuring innovation platforms are represented with clarity.
• Serve as an organizational support to ensure innovation outputs are communicated across teams.

Library & Documentation

• Own the upkeep of innovation swatches, archive materials, and digital fabric library.
• Ensure PLM and internal databases are consistently updated with related information, including supplier details, concept notes, and seasonal outcomes.
• Support documentation of innovation journeys (from concept kick-off to seasonal integration) to create traceability.

Qualifications:

• 1–2 years of experience in raw materials, innovation, or textile-related roles (academic projects or internships welcome).
• Interest in textile innovation, future fibers, and performance-driven materials.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to maintain clear systems across swatches, libraries, and digital tools.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with PLM or digital material library platforms is a plus.
• Strong communication and presentation support skills to translate innovation ideas into shareable formats.

The Base Salary Range for this position is $70,000 - $72,000 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the Company’s total rewards package for exempt employees.
