This is a permanent opportunity offered as a hybrid role, working out of our London Southbank office 3 days per week with 2 from home.

Job summary:

We are seeking an energetic, customer-focused Associate Business Analyst to support the delivery of projects and product initiatives within an Agile environment. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, the Associate Business Analyst will help to understand, analyse, and document requirements that support the wider objectives of the organisation.

This is a hands-on, collaborative role, working alongside Project Managers, Product Managers, partners, and internal delivery teams to help ensure business needs are accurately translated into effective system solutions. The role will contribute to the creation of clear, well-structured Epics, User Stories, and Business Use Cases, while developing Business Analysis capability through coaching and practical experience.

Key accountabilities:

  • Work with business stakeholders to help identify and document clear, concise business requirements for IT projects, products, and programmes of work, supporting the delivery of business value.
  • Collaborate with users to define and document requirements, working independently on well-defined tasks and under the guidance of Project Managers where appropriate.
  • Analyse business and technical issues within an agreed scope, contributing to the identification of effective solutions.
  • Support and facilitate team discussions around high-level estimation, sizing, and planning of Epics and User Stories.
  • Operate under general direction, using judgement to identify, escalate, and respond appropriately to more complex issues and assignments.
  • Support system and user acceptance testing activities, and assist the Product team with product sign-off against agreed acceptance criteria.
  • Actively contribute to writing, updating, and maintaining config files with a hands-on approach.
  • Release management - planning and overseeing releases, coordinating with other teams to ensure timely, successful delivery.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Foundational understanding of Business Analysis methodologies, particularly Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) and Specification by Example, within an Agile environment.
  • Strong willingness to develop Business Analysis skills and learn through mentoring and on-the-job experience with more senior colleagues.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Comfortable using a range of IT applications and digital tools.
  • Logical, structured, and objective approach to tasks and problem-solving.
  • Good understanding of business environments and commercial considerations.
  • Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a proactive and self-motivated approach.
  • Ability to contribute to multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining quality.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL.

Desirable:

  • Experience producing functional or business requirements documentation.
  • Exposure to business process modelling techniques and tools.
  • Experience working within a publishing, media, or digital content environment.
  • Knowledge of horse racing and/or other sports and odds.
  • An understanding of APIs and their integration across systems.
  • Familiarity with Jira, CASE tools, and Google Workspace products.
  • Comfortable using AI-assisted tools to support data analysis, requirements synthesis, and documentation.
