  • Job Title: Associate Category Merchandising Manager (Maternity Cover - 12-month FTC)
  • Job Summary: The Pokémon International Company is embarking on an innovation journey and transforming its digital commerce capabilities to meet international demand for original and collectable Pokémon products. As our Associate Category Merchandising Manager, you will hold end-to-end responsibility for driving growth for our Global Plush and Global Licensed product categories, product planning for our EU storefronts, and working closely with product development, marketing and business teams. This is a key role in driving revenue and customer acquisition, and takes the lead in ensuring the Marketing, Merchandising and Content Teams have all required information to create engaging marketing campaigns for your product categories. This role is also responsible for bringing products from Licensed Partners onto Pokémon Center internationally. Acting as an overall project manager, you will work on these products from end-to-end; from identifying opportunities with UK and US Licensing Teams, product selection and set up, and go-to-market planning to ensure a successful release. Our Licensed products are as varied as our fans, covering products from clothing, figures, toys, books and plush. Alongside these global tasks, the successful candidate will be a key part of our European Pokémon Center business, working alongside colleagues in Marketing, Digital Merchandising, Demand Planning, Logistics, and Business Operations to ensure our sites are performing strongly, products launch successfully, and developing action plans on any under or over performing categories or products.

What you’ll do 

  • Take ownership of the global Plush category, working with the dedicated product development team to bring new and replenishment stock online, and work closely with Supply Planners to ensure appropriate buy levels.
  • Create plush replenishment strategies to ensure top characters and themes remain in stock, and work with marketing teams to develop enticing stories for our fans.
  • Take responsibility for product data entry, maintenance, and accuracy for your categories.
  • Develop an end-to-end understanding and knowledge of the entire product development process and ecommerce systems.
  • Compile weekly/monthly sales reports and analysis for your categories.
  • Provide visibility of release date changes of your product categories.
  • Assist the category managers in developing, implementing, and managing new scalable processes to enhance and maintain business strategy.
  • Support with assortment planning for European Event pop up stores.
  • Maintain trackers, systems and product data (release dates and pricing) to support in the day-to-day product release management for each EU storefront.
  • Be responsible for tracking product launch dates, ensuring accurate data, marketing planning and visibility of production and logistics dates.
  • Manage internal stock requests and product samples.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.               

What you’ll bring

  • Three (3) to four (4) years of experience in eCommerce or relevant professional field.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or a demonstrated equivalent level of applicable experience.
  • A love for planning and an eye for detail is critical in this role.
  • Ability to manage a lot of different projects and tasks concurrently.
  • Ability to build strong internal & external relationships, especially virtually.
  • Able to improve process and ways of working to become more efficient.
  • Willing to work as part of multiple teams and build excellent team dynamics.
  • Fast learner and able to understand complex and ambiguous processes.
  • Skilled at working in Excel, ideally to an advanced level.
  • Experience working with Tableau or other dashboard tool is ideal.
  • Willingness to take on new projects and products to continuously develop and grow Pokémon Center.

Base Salary Range: For this role, new hires generally start between £40,000.00 - £47,500.00 per year. The full range is £40,000.00 - £60,000.00 per year. This range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. The final base salary is directly related to the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience uniquely.
