The International Content Partnership team is responsible for licensing league rights (NBA, WNBA, G-League, NBA 2K League and Basketball Africa League) to media outlets (such as ESPN) around the world This position will play a key role in supporting the NBA’s media business.
Serve as a liaison between the NBA’s US offices and its regional offices for all matters related to the global media distribution business, including communicating with staff located in NBA offices in China, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Singapore, India, the UK, Brazil, Mexico, Johannesburg and Canada during their local office hours (including occasional evening calls).
Help support key initiatives and the International Content Partnerships (ICP) teams to achieve revenue targets and distribution goals .
Oversee the sales administration process for all global media deals from submission through execution. Includes maintaining visibility of where deals are in the pipeline at all times, reviewing incoming deals, issuing notifications upon contract execution and coordinating with multiple departments, including Accounts Receivable, Broadcast Operations and Programming.
Serve as the primary contact for everything related to the department’s Deal Management System (DMS) which tracks our media deals, becoming proficient with deal entry and the reporting function, training staff, and working with IT to help develop new reports and introduce system enhancements. Continually review the system to ensure that all deals are fully and properly entered, and records match across DMS and online files. Run reports to confirm programming deliverables and handle other ad hoc reporting needs.
Work with the legal team to determine the status of pending agreements and track their progress, as well as the compliance team for due diligence matters.
Support the department’s sales efforts for five leagues – National Basketball Association (NBA), Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), NBA G League, NBA 2K League and the Basketball Africa League (BAL) - as well as USA Basketball (USAB), including liaising with the property owners, determining licensable content and delivery options and costs and maintaining deal summaries.

Work closely with the Accounts Receivables department on all invoicing and collections matters, including reviewing weekly aging reports, coordinating matters related to pre-bills and withholding taxes, and liaising with the regional office finance teams.
Establish a regular cadence and process for obtaining financial status updates for partners from the regions, including leading collection meetings, and help implement collection strategies.
Work with the Finance teams to determine if revenue share thresholds are met and help coordinate billing as necessary.
Track contractual ticket obligations for our tent-pole events, including All-Star Weekend, the Finals and Global Games, confirm usage plans with account managers, communicate needs with the Partner Services team who manages tickets, and disseminate tickets to partners.
Work with the ICP Partner Services manager and the league’s credential system to track media credential applications. May be asked to travel to and work events to manage the distribution of credentials to international media partners covering the event on-site.
Work with US and regional staff to identify process enhancements and bottlenecks to maximize efficiencies and streamline functions.
Update reference documents for senior management in advance of Board of Governors and Committee meetings, and provide and review facts related to ICP’s media business for use internally and externally.
Maintain key documents and databases for the department, including Key Dates, NBA TV International, Show Tracker and International Player reports, as well as User/Process Guides, and disseminate to the department as necessary.
Handle expense reporting for direct manager.
Perform ad hoc tasks as requested from both inside and outside the department.
