Rockstar San Diego is looking to hire a Producer who is highly organized and passionate about supporting our Technology Production team. This is a full-time, in-office position based out of Rockstar’s new state-of-the-art game development studio in Carlsbad, CA.

WHAT WE DO

  • The Technology Production team act as general support across all of our Code, Tools and Design Systems departments to help create the celebrated games that we are known for. Where each sub-department has their own dedicated production to help coordinate their work, we oversee general initiatives to assist the departments as a whole. 
  • Beyond our own initiatives, we work with management and production teams cross-departmentally to help coordinate the development of various active projects. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the global Technology teams and your peers in Production on a wide array of projects and initiatives, across studios and time zones. 
  • Develop and own processes that ensure the day-to-day success of initiatives, including defining the metrics used to determine success. 
  • Develop and maintain production timelines by liaising with your peers within and across departments. 
  • Own and manage bug backlogs, including driving and refining estimates. 
  • Own cross-functional meetings, including protection of staff time by ensuring attendee lists are appropriate, meetings have correct agendas and are only as long and frequent as necessary. 
  • Communicate project status, risks and priorities at the appropriate level of detail to project leads as well as your peers and other production staff. 
  • Work with production coordinators to delegate tasks fairly and effectively. 
  • Maintain an up-to-date familiarity with the games and feature areas you’re covering, to ensure you’re able to appropriately contextualize and prioritize work. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience in Production, Project Management or QA roles. 
  • Positive, solution-oriented individual with a passion for game development and project management. 

SKILLS

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • An aptitude for working in a deadline-focused team environment. 
  • Proven ability to write accurate and descriptive software bug reports. 
  • Proven ability to communicate and comprehend technical information in both written and verbal form. 
  • Self-motivated and adaptable with strong problem-solving skills. 
  • An eagerness to learn new software and develop skillsets. 
  • Strong data management skills. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office. 
  • Able to work both on a variety of tasks simultaneously: sometimes as a team and sometimes of their own autonomy. 

PLUSES

  • An interest in video games and their development. 
  • Participation in any academic or industry research or complex project development. 
  • Professional experience in the Software, Video Game, or similar industry. 
  • Professional experience in Quality Assurance, Help Desk, IT support, etc. 
  • Experience with Program Management, 
  • Familiarity with Game Creation or Modification Tools. 
  • Familiarity with Perforce or equivalent source control software. 
  • Familiarity with Jira or equivalent bug/project tracking software. 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio and Windows software development. 
  • Experience using Figma and FigJam. 
  • Experience reading and analyzing technical output and/or crash dumps 
  • In-depth familiarity of Rockstar products is a plus.

The pay range for this position in San Diego at the start of employment is expected to be between the range below* per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

$85,700$120,000 USD
