Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Automation Technical Project Manager to join our QA Team.

You’ll be reporting to the QA Management team and you’ll be responsible for supporting them in various aspects, including making sure our games implement the best approach to automating QA processes, bridge the gap between all teams involved in automation efforts, get involved hands-on in delivering practical automation solutions and follow-up with all involved stakeholders on the overall progress.

You’ll bring a strong technical background in Test Automation in game engines (Unity, Unreal or proprietary engines) and a deep understanding on how to implement automation at scale, to support high-quality game development and QA flows.

You’ll be working with various Stakeholders, such as Technical Directors, Game Producers, Game Managers, Game Developers, Release and Operations Managers, QA Managers, QA teams, etc… to take the best decisions for building up our Automation framework.

You’ll lead cross-functional initiatives, coordinate competing priorities, and foster adoption of standardized automation practices across our game portfolio.

You’ll apply an Entrepreneurial mindset to identify problems and/or opportunities by yourself, developing plans to address them, getting the buy in from Stakeholders and decisional factors, ultimately behaving as an internal Business Leader.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement automation strategies, goals, and policies aligned with game lifecycle milestones
  • Build and drive the automation mission, vision and direction across all teams
  • Oversee daily progress on Automation initiatives (implementation in game clients, onboarding new solutions, training teams to use Automation, etc.)
  • Ensure projects and teams adhere to Automation roadmaps and milestones
  • Ensure Development Teams are aware of and adhere to Automation standards (e.g. minimum unit test coverage, automated smoke test integration in CI/CD, test data setup practices, easy SDK integration)
  • Identify areas for automation within QA workflows (e.g. regression, smoke testing, build validation, metrics measurement)
  • Stay updated on Automation trends and emerging technologies, advocating for them internally and supporting their integration
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Development, Product Management, and Operations, to ensure Automation goals are met
  • Provide regular updates to involved stakeholders on Automation performance, challenges, and outcomes
  • Define and track key Automation metrics to measure performance, ROI and identify bottlenecks (e.g. time saved per release cycle, test coverage ratio, reduction in manual bugs reported)
  • Analyze data to make informed decisions and guide future initiatives
  • Integrate automation solutions into CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid and reliable development cycles
  • Promote best practices for maintainable and scalable automation code and frameworks
  • Coach and mentor QA and development teams on automation adoption and standards
  • Create and maintain documentation and learning materials for new tools and workflows
  • Advocate for shift-left testing practices to ensure earlier bug defection and improve test coverage
