Our team is passionate about empowering individuals to make positive health changes, and we’re looking for a talented Behavioral Scientist to join us. This role is crucial to advancing our mission of improving health outcomes by integrating behavioral science principles into our products and services.

As a Behavioral Scientist, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, scientists, UX/UI designers, and content creators, to design, implement, and evaluate behavior change strategies in our products and services. Your work will focus on utilizing ecological momentary assessment (EMA) and experience sampling methods to generate actionable insights that drive user engagement and health outcomes. You will also contribute to advancing behavioral science within the organization, informing research studies, and sharing findings with internal teams and external partners.

What You will do:

  • Behavioral Science Integration:
    • Apply behavioral science and psychology principles to guide product and service design, focusing on improving user health and wellbeing.
    • Contribute to the development of approaches that enable users to implement effective behavior change strategies.
  • Research & Analysis:
    • Design and execute research projects using ecological momentary assessment and experience sampling methods.
    • Collaborate with UX researchers and data scientists to assess and refine behavior change strategies.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Integrate behavioral science insights into product development with cross-functional and cross-timezone teams.
    • Establish and maintain research collaborations, and share findings within the organization.
  • Development:
    • Support onboarding of new hires or interns, sharing best practices.
    • Stay current with developments in behavioral science to continuously improve methods and processes.

We would love to have You on our team, if you have:

  • Education & Experience:
    • PhD in Behavioral Science, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
    • 1-3 years of experience in applying behavioral science insights and experimental research methods to product or service development, preferably in healthcare.
    • Expertise in ecological momentary assessment (EMA) and experience sampling methods.
  • Competencies:
    • Strong ability to translate academic research into practical, actionable insights for cross-functional teams and product consumers.
    • Proficiency in experiment design, statistical methods, and data analysis within the context of behavioral science.
    • Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Team working and collaboration skills with diverse teams.
    • Experience in leading smaller projects or sub-projects, with a track record of successfully driving research initiatives forward.
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Background or experience working with UX designers or UX researchers.
    • Experience in developing and delivering behavior change strategies through smartphone apps.
    • Experience working in a health-related field and applying behavioral science in the health domain.
    • Track record of publications in your area of expertise.
    • Experience in data science (Python and SQL).
