OVERVIEW 

As a Business Acumen Intern at ALO, you’ll partner closely with the Retail Operations team to turn sales and performance data into insights that drive store-level and fleet-wide decisions. This role is designed for someone who is excited by how data informs sales forecasting, trend identification, and day-to-day retail decision-making. 

The ALO internship program starts June 8th and ends July 31st. Interns will work 40 hours per week from our Beverly Hills HQ. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Support sales forecasting and planning by analyzing historical trends, seasonality, and business drivers across the retail fleet. 

• Perform ad hoc analyses to answer time-sensitive business questions from Retail and Leadership teams. 

• Monitor and report on key retail performance indicators, including sales trends, traffic, conversion, and productivity. 

• Identify emerging business trends and anomalies at the store, region, and total company level. 

• Build and maintain dashboards and recurring reports that help leaders quickly assess business health and performance risks. 

• Partner with Retail Operations, Finance, and Data Engineering to translate data into clear, actionable insights. 

• Present findings using concise visualizations and storytelling tailored to non-technical business stakeholders. 

REQUIREMENTS 

• Currently pursuing or just graduated with a BS or MS in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Business, or a related quantitative field 

• Strong analytical foundation with the ability to interpret data in a retail or commercial context 

• Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar) 

• Comfort working with imperfect or evolving datasets in a fast-paced business environment 

• Familiarity with retail, sales, or operational metrics (e.g., sales trends, comps, productivity, forecasting concepts) 

• Curious, detail-oriented, and able to synthesize analysis into clear business recommendations 

Compensation for this position is $44/hr.
