Job Description

Chief Scientific Officer

Truveta is the world’s first health provider led data platform with a vision of Saving Lives with Data. Our mission is to enable researchers to find cures faster, empower every clinician to be an expert, and help families make the most informed decisions about their care. Achieving Truveta’s ambitious vision requires an incredible team of talented and inspired people with a special combination of health, software and big data experience who share our company values.

Truveta was born in the Pacific Northwest, but we have employees who live across the country.  Our team enjoys the flexibility of a hybrid model and working from anywhere.  In person attendance is required for two weeks during the year for Truveta Planning Weeks.

For overall team productivity, we optimize meeting hours in the pacific time zone. We avoid scheduling recurring meetings that start after 3pm PT, however, ad hoc meetings occur between 8am-6pm Pacific time. #LI-remote

  • Act as Truveta’s external scientific voice with regulators, researchers, life science leaders, and policymakers—representing the company in advisory roles, speaking engagements, and collaborative initiatives.
  • Provide thought leadership and support as we expand the Truveta Genome Project
  • Uphold the highest standards in research ethics, compliance, privacy, and reproducibility, ensuring Truveta’s work meets or exceeds regulatory expectations.

Key qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MD, PhD, or equivalent) in epidemiology, biostatistics, health informatics, public health, or a related biomedical field.
  • 15+ years of experience in scientific research or real-world evidence generation, including leadership roles within academia, industry, or public health.
  • Proven track record of impactful publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Deep expertise in study design, statistical methods, and health data analytics.
  • Executive-level communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-moving environment.
  • Experience leading high-performing, mission-driven research teams.
