ABOUT THE ROLE: 

As a Clinical Account Manager, you will provide tactical and strategic clinical consultation to clients with deep understanding of industry challenges to be able to tie client pain points to viable solutions. You will leverage your pharmacy and healthcare expertise to meet the client’s strategic goals and drive improved clinical and financial outcomes for their membership. As the clinical subject matter expert on the client management team, the Clinical Consultant is assigned to a set of complex and sophisticated clients and manages a dynamic workload serving as the primary resource for all clinically related initiatives, including but not limited to ongoing pharmacy trend evaluation, presentation of quarterly business reviews (QBRs), implementation support, follow-up related to the comprehensive management of clinical programs, service issues, and initiatives related to clinical program up-sell. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Accountable for developing a comprehensive pharmacy benefit strategy that aligns to and supports the client’s strategic goals.
  • Leads the up-sell and implementation of clinical programs to clients through consultative methods and processes in accordance with client business plans and upon collaboration and coordination with all applicable internal stakeholders, including but not limited to client management, underwriting, clinical strategy, benefits, and pharmacy operations.
  • Effectively manages client escalations with the ability to de-escalate with minimal to no supervision.
  • Work across internal cross-functional partners to influence on behalf of client needs and demands.
  • Demonstrates clear understanding and interpretation of current industry trends and drug information.
  • Acts in concert with assigned client management team members to service all needs of the client.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy; PharmD and/or managed care residency preferred.
  • Active U.S. pharmacist license in good standing
  • Minimum 4 years relevant experience in pharmacy, managed care or PBM industry; prior client-facing experience strongly preferred.
  • Preference on Mountain/Pacific time zone and/or ability to work similar hours
  • Working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications preferred
  • Working knowledge of PBM financials.
  • Excellent organizational, time and project management skills
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Influential and impactful presentation skills.
  • Strong ability to analyze and interpret information, develop solutions and problem solve effectively.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to effectively communicate and resolve complex client issues with the highest sense of urgency.
  • Ability to travel overnight up to 10%.

BASE SALARY: $120,000-140,000
