SUMMARY

The Commercial Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and professional transportation services for the Long Island Nets throughout the basketball season, including pre-season, regular season, post-season, and other team-related activities. This role supports team operations by transporting players, staff, equipment, and luggage while ensuring all team vehicles are properly maintained and operated in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

What You Will Do

Transportation & Team Support

  • Provide transportation services for Long Island Nets practices, games, airport transfers, and other team-related events.
  • Support in-market travel by transporting team members to and from practices, games, and designated team functions.
  • Maintain availability for pre-season, regular season, post-season, and other Long Island Nets activities as required.
  • Assist with team travel logistics, including transporting luggage, equipment, and other operational materials.

Vehicle Maintenance & Compliance

  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safe operation.
  • Coordinate and complete vehicle fueling as needed.
  • Schedule and oversee routine maintenance and annual vehicle servicing.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle records and promptly report any mechanical issues or safety concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with all commercial driving regulations and company vehicle policies.

Scheduling & Availability

  • Maintain flexibility to support the team's schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Submit requests for time off in advance and obtain approval from both Operations Leadership and Long Island Nets Leadership prior to taking leave

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and all required certifications and endorsements necessary to operate a commercial vehicle.
  • Ability to provide and maintain all documentation required to legally operate commercial vehicles.
  • Clean driving record and commitment to safe driving practices.
  • Strong reliability, professionalism, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift and transport luggage, equipment, and team materials as needed.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on team and event requirements.

Additional Requirements

  • Successful completion of a mandatory annual drug test as required by the organization's insurance carrier.
  • Compliance with all company policies, safety procedures, and transportation regulations.
  • Participation in onboarding and training requirements prior to the start of employment.

Compensation

$37.50 / hour
