Commercial Manager
THE ROLE:
Commercial Team working on retail fit out projects is responsible for managing the financial aspects of the project and ensuring that it is completed within budget. They work closely with the project team, including architects, contractors, and suppliers, to ensure that costs are controlled, and any financial risks are identified and mitigated.
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Assist in managing cost aspects from initial estimates to final figures, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to company standards. Your attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure will be key.
- Contribute to the development of comprehensive cost plans, monitor and track changes that may affect the budget. Your ability to adapt and problem-solve will be valued.
- Collaborate with project and site managers to help forecast the costs of different work stages. Your excellent teamwork and communication skills will play a crucial role.
- Participate in risk analysis to identify and mitigate any potential financial risks associated with the project. A proactive approach and analytical thinking will be essential.
- Aid in preparing, analyzing, and presenting regular budget reports to the senior cost manager, clients, and stakeholders. Your presentation skills and ability to articulate complex information clearly will be important.
- Work closely with the procurement team to ensure materials and services are sourced at the best possible price, without compromising on quality. Your negotiation skills and ability to build strong relationships will be utilized.
- Review construction plans and assist in preparing quantity requirements, scrutinize maintenance and material costs, and contracts to optimize spending. Your keen eye for detail will be essential.
- Support auditing processes to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Your integrity and commitment to upholding high standards will be valued.
- Contribute to providing advice and forecasts about cost management for future projects. Your eagerness to learn and contribute ideas will be welcomed.

- Manage the team’s costs against budgets including processing of expenses etc.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Who you are :
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or working towards one.
- Up to 3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Cost Manager in the construction industry, or a similar role would be advantageous.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and strategic planning skills.
- Good negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Basic understanding of construction project management and cost optimization techniques.
- Proficiency in relevant software, including AutoCAD, MS Office, and cost management software is a plus.
- Familiarity with construction and project management regulations and compliance standards.
- An understanding of the property market and its impacts on cost management.
