Get to know the role

  • Job Title: Convention Project Manager 

  • Job Summary: This role is responsible for organizing, managing, and delivering multiple tentpole projects within the Event team, including but not limited to, the two largest events within the portfolio. As a project manager on the Event team, this role will work cross-functionally to own the set up of projects, project timelines, drive results, manage stakeholders, and hit delivery dates. 

  • FLSA Classification (US Only): Exempt

What you’ll do 

  • Lead interdepartmental teams to complete an assigned project on time, to specifications, and with accuracy and efficiency. 

  • Outline the tasks involved in the project and delegates accordingly. 

  • Manage projects that span across both internal and external clients and teams. 

  • Monitor project scopes, budgets, schedules, staffing, communications, outside vendors, and contractual deliverables, accounting for interdependencies. 

  • Influence interdepartmental stakeholders to complete an assigned tasks on time, to specifications, and with accuracy and efficiency. 

  • Track at risk metrics and facilitate actions to keep projects on track. 

  • Act as a liaison between company, customers, and vendors. 

  • Communicate and collaborate with various teams to provide training and information to impacted parties. 

  • Audit and document current processes.  

  • Implement process improvement plans. 

  • Manage and track milestones and KPIs for a portfolio of projects. 

What you’ll bring 

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience within large scale events or relatable project management. 

  • Understanding of the components necessary to produce large scale conventions. 

  • Strong understanding of project management process and concepts. 

  • Ability to multitask and proactively manage assigned projects with minimal supervision. 

  • Able to work under pressure and under challenging timelines. 

  • Team player with ability to work with various groups across the organization. 

  • Demonstrated experience with creating and auditing processes and building buy-in from stakeholders of all levels of the organization.  

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. 

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. 

  • Proficiency in Workfront and Smartsheet. 

  • PMP certification preferred.

  • Base salary range: For this role, new hires generally start between $102,000 - $120,650.  The full range is $102,000 - $152,000. This range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and professional experience uniquely.
