Job Description

Position Title: Coordinator, Accounts Payable

Position Reports To: Manager, Accounts Payable

Position Summary: MLB Network seeks a Coordinator, Accounts Payable to code and process invoices in the Company’s accounting system. This position requires someone who thrives in a fast paced, dynamic environment and who collaborates effectively.

Responsibilities

:           

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the processing and submission of invoices for payment into the Company’s accounting system.
  • Coordinate with MLB Office of the Commissioner for the setup and maintenance of new vendors.
  • Assist with processing of purchase orders into the accounting system.
  • Print, sort and distribute Accounts Payable checks on a weekly basis.
  • Provide the cash requirements report to Accounting on a weekly basis.
  • Assist in the annual 1099 reporting process.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with vendors, employees, and other administrative departments in support of AP procedures.
  • Assist with financial statement audit and other special projects as assigned.
  • Other such duties as required.

Skills & Experience: The ideal candidate must have most if not all of the following skills and experiences:

  • 0-2 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of accounting systems (knowledge of Oracle Fusion is preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Superior attention to detail.
  • Able to maintain confidential information.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to function as an effective team member.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as required, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Demonstrate the tact, diplomacy, decisiveness, and superior people skills required in the pressurized environment of live television.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and/or kneel for extended periods of time.
  • Possess the manual dexterity needed to effectively create required work product.
  • Possess the visual acuity needed to effectively create required work product.
  • Possess the auditory acuity needed to effectively create required work product.

Education: Bachelor's degree is required; Accounting or Finance major is preferred

Work Classification: Flextime. Employee permitted to work remotely 40% of the week, with the days in the office determined by the manager of the individual employee.

Work classifications may be changed or modified at any time by the Company.

Salary: $45,000 - $55,000
