Job Description

Who are we: A professional basketball team and state-of-the-art arena/entertainment venue that specializes in creating memorable experiences for each guest we interact with. State Farm Arena hosts approximately 160 events annually with nearly 2 million guests, consistently ranking among the top 10 concert and event venues in the world. Job Summary: The Event Operations Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless execution of events at State Farm Arena. This position supports the planning, coordination, and execution of Atlanta Hawks games, concerts, family shows, and other world-class events. Key Responsibilities: • Coordinate operational aspects of events including load-in/load-out, setup, and breakdown procedures • Serve as liaison between internal departments and external vendors, artists, and event promoters • Support event planning meetings and maintain detailed event timelines and run-of-show documents • Coordinate with security, guest services, food & beverage, and facility maintenance teams • Monitor event operations to ensure compliance with safety protocols and venue policies • Assist with crowd management and guest flow optimization • Support VIP guest experiences and premium hospitality operations • Manage event-day communications between departments • Maintain accurate event documentation and post-event reporting • Assist with budget tracking and vendor management • Support emergency response procedures and crisis management protocols • Coordinate with City of Atlanta and other municipal agencies as required Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Sports Management, or related field preferred • 1-3 years of event operations or venue management experience • Strong organizational and project management skills • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and event management software • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities • Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 pounds throughout events • Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required • Experience in sports or entertainment venue operations preferred We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
