Position Overview

The candidate will be responsible for a wide range of domestic and international event operations functions including air charter, ground transportation and ballpark logistics, planning, department-wide support and administrative tasks as required. 
 

Essential Functions

· Help coordinate operations and logistics for domestic and international MLB events and meetings including All-Star, Little League Classic, Field of Dreams, Draft Combine, World Baseball Classic, International Games, HRDX, Postseason, Winter Meetings, etc.

· Prepare purchase orders, maintain all purchasing records, track orders and ship to event sites.

· General support for Global Events department.

· Process invoices and reconcile department and event budgets

· Manage department PowerPoint presentations

· Assist with preparations, scheduling and execution planning sessions and meetings

· Assist with management of site visits

· Manage event photos post event

· Support Event Operations team in preparing and executing various agreements

· Work cross-functionally with various internal departments on event related specific

 

Qualifications and Skills

· Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

· Detail oriented, professional and a collaborative team player

· Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

· Prior experience in events or logistics preferred

· Prior experience in managing air charter and dground transportation operations preferred

· Excellent organization, communication and writing skills

· Demonstrated time management skills including the ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment

· Strong problem solver and creative thinker

· Excellent and professional interpersonal skills; team-oriented demeanor and ability to work across internal and external groups

· Excellent computer aptitude and advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, especially PowerPoint. Experience with Adobe Acrobat and Google Drive.

· Ability to work at night and weekends as needed

· Ability to travel domestically and internationally

· Strong presentation skills

· Fluency or strong understanding of Spanish and other languages is a plus

· An understanding of baseball is preferred

· Experience working in a professional sports and/or special events environment would be an asset.

 

Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is an hourly rate of $22.00 to $26.00. The actual offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your work experience, education, skills and any other factors Major League Baseball (MLB) considers relevant to the hiring decision.
