Barstool Sports is seeking a Coordinator, Rights and Clearances. This position will serve to limit risk and clear third party materials for usage in Barstool Sports Content. Monetization and IP knowledge will be necessary to approve content that will be set live as well as monitor legacy content.

What You'll Do:

  • Daily monitoring of the distribution partner’s Content Management Systems, Specifically Youtube, to comply with Partner requirements. 
  • Actively pursue Youtube Copyright Monetization optimization by utilizing Youtube’s backend partner resources
  • Oversee mid-roll enforcement on all content to maximize monetization opportunities
  • Assist in securing music licensing from third parties for synchronization requests when budget has been allocated.
  • Compile and submit music cue sheets for blanket library compliance/ Performance Rights (if applicable)
  • Act as a resource for the production team for rights related inquiries at all stages of production; Suggest and encourage creative but safe solutions when rights acquisition isn’t possible
  • Perform frame by frame “watchdowns” for broadcast, sponsored, or “evergreen” content. Ensure that all appearances, locations, materials, and third party materials have been released and/or licensed. Includes licensing of both photography and music
  • Research existing trademark registrations and active 3rd party usage for marks that Barstool intends on using

What You Have:

  • 3+ years Experience with licensing, media, or Associate Production (gathering releases), or equivalent experience. 
  • Music licensing experience preferred
  • Minimum a solid understanding of music licensing and third-party rights/clearance.
  • Have a positive but stern attitude when collaborating with producers and creative professionals in a fast paced environment
  • Act in accordance with legal guidelines and verbiage; ability to put pride aside and confirm understanding. Recognize limitations between legal and R&C to identify when escalation is needed.
  • Organization is a must; with R&C covering a variety of responsibilities, be able to keep track of tasks and prioritize. 
  • Be curious to learn operations and tech that concern R&C (Back end of Youtube, Facebook, TESS)
  • Detail oriented or “hawk-eyed” when reviewing materials to be published to ensure that potential risk is limited.

Pay Range: $65,000 to $75,000
