The Coordinator, Social Content will be responsible for ideating, producing, and editing original content across MLB’s social channels, with an emphasis on MLB TikTok, Instagram, and Snapchat. Our team is looking for someone with a keen understanding of the social media landscape, a strong grasp on baseball and its players, and the ability to produce content that inserts MLB and the sport into the social conversation.
Responsibilities
Create content to be posted on TikTok, Instagram, and other social platforms (emphasis on TikTok)
Cultivate a relatable, casual voice on the MLB TikTok account
Film content on iPhone, then edit that content to be distributed across MLB platforms
Assist team with organizational tasks, including but not limited to: sorting content, tracking content links, answering emails, etc.
Research information about players and storylines within the league
Monitor social media to recognize trends in sports and pop culture
Working cross-collaboratively with other teams within MLB and outside of MLB
Collaborates with team to accomplish daily tasks and long-term projects
Ideate and develop content plans for everyday content and tentpole events
Adapt to different projects and requests that come up
Qualifications
4 year degree OR equivalent relevant experience
Experience working on TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat; other social platforms a plus
Video editing skills/experience required; familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro preferred
Ability to work professionally with and around players
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
organizational skills; ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Awareness of trends, viral moments, and pop culture
Must be willing to work in NYC
Must be willing to work nights and weekends
Potential travel involved
Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is an hourly rate of $25.00 to $25.00. The actual offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your work experience, education, skills and any other factors Major League Baseball (MLB) considers relevant to the hiring decision.
