Are you a master wordsmith with a passion for pushing boundaries and setting trends? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where innovation is the norm? If so, we want you on our team. We are seeking an expert and visionary creative leader to join our team as the Creative Director of Copywriting. This role requires a strategic thinker with over 12+ years of experience in creative direction, preferably with a mix of creative studio experience and leading in-house teams at global brands. Ensure that all company creative work is supported and inspired, driving forward the tone of voice work across all of Strava.

This is a hybrid role based in our San Francisco office and we are not able to offer relocation assistance for this role. This role will be either a Sr. Manager or Director depending on skills and experience and ability to demonstrate those in the interview process.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will:

  • Drive creative excellence within the copywriting team, inspiring greatness and fostering a culture of innovation.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency and impact across all touchpoints.
  • Push the boundaries of what's possible in the world of fitness and communication, crafting compelling narratives that resonate with our audience.
  • Lead by example, infusing every piece of copy with passion, authenticity, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
  • Report to the Executive Creative Director and lead the charge in defining and maintaining the brand's tone of voice.

You will be successful here by:

  • Excellent management skills, with the ability to inspire creative teams and empower individuals to achieve their best work.
  • Experience collaborating closely with Senior leadership and drive forward high visibility work with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong Experience in Brand marketing, Growth, and Content Design for product is must.
  • A strong writing process and experience working across various media channels.
  • Flexible, dependable, and highly organized, with exceptional communication and decision-making skills.
  • Passionate about Strava's mission and purpose, with empathy for both the customer and individuals on the creative team.

We’re excited about you because:

  • 12+ years of creative direction experience, with a strong background in copywriting and leading creative teams
  • Excellent storytelling and written communication skills
  • Strong portfolio with relevant case studies demonstrating your leadership of projects
  • Digital agency experience and/or in-house strong brand background is critical
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Advertising, Marketing, Communications, or related field. MBA preferred
