We help everyday runners become outstanding by providing world-class training, coaching and community for everyone, whether you're improving your 5k time or training for your first marathon. To date we have built iOS, Android and Apple watch apps that help people achieve their goals by coaching them through the full journey and syncing to their favourite fitness devices.

We’re growing extremely fast and in November 2023 closed a new $6.5M funding round led by JamJar with participation from Eka Ventures, Venrex and Creator Ventures. In 2024, we were selected by Apple as one of three global finalists for the 2024 iPhone App of the Year, reflecting the innovation and impact of what we’ve built. Who we’re looking for

We are looking for a talented, hands-on, and experienced problem solver to join our team as our first CRM Optimisation Manager. You’ll be an A/B testing mastermind with a focus on building, optimising and scaling our marketing automations by utilising Runna’s customer data. You will work closely with our CRM Lead and the rest of the Growth team, who will be there to support you every step of the way as we work together to shape the future of Runna.

Requirements

As a CRM Optimisation Manager you will:

• Build and manage complex customer journeys and automations in our ESP, Iterable, using Email, Push notifications and In-app messages to engage and retain our runners.
• Lead our strategic A/B testing programme — continuously testing content, creative, and journey optimisations to drive better results and hit key team and business goals.
• Own campaign reporting, providing clear insights and recommendations to help the team (and wider business) understand CRM’s impact on core KPIs.
• Work closely with the CRM Lead, using data and insights to help shape CRM strategy and spot opportunities to better support and motivate our runners.
• Explore new tools and technologies, identifying ways to enhance our CRM tech stack and keep us at the cutting edge.
• Manage and optimise our AI-powered CRM platform (Aampe), sharing key learnings with internal stakeholders and feeding insights back into our broader CRM strategy.

What experience we are looking for

Your key skills:

• 2+ years of CRM experience — ideally in a B2C app environment, where you’ve managed campaigns and automations across Email, Push Notifications and In-app Messages.
• Hands-on experience with marketing platforms like Iterable, Braze, HubSpot or similar ESPs — including building workflows, managing segmentation, and automating campaigns.
• Comfort owning end-to-end campaigns, from creative brainstorming to building in-platform, scheduling, and reporting.
• A strong understanding of segmentation strategies and A/B testing best practices, with experience setting up always-on lifecycle automations.
• Experience using product analytics tools (like Mixpanel) to analyse performance and uncover actionable insights.

Bonus points if you…

• Have basic HTML/CSS skills to tweak email and in-app message designs.
• Know your way around email deliverability best practices — like inbox placement, sender reputation and reducing spam risk.
• Have a passion for running, fitness or sport (but no worries if you’re just starting your running journey — we love beginners too!).
• Have experience working with AI-driven CRM platforms like Aampe.

Benefits

Interview process

We offer a salary of £43,000 - £50,000 (depending on experience), plus equity in the form of Runna stock options.

1. Introductory chat with Alice, CRM Lead (30 minute video call)
2. Take home CRM task - (~2 hour to complete) presented in a 1 hour call with Alice & Miranda, Head of Growth.
3. Meet the team - In-person chat with founder(s) and rest of the CRM/Growth team
