• Identify, document, and maintain key data domains, assets, and critical data elements across the organisation.
• Establish clear ownership, stewardship, and accountability for data across business and tech teams.
• Own and maintain core governance tools like the data catalog, lineage, business glossary, and data quality frameworks.
• Lead engaging data governance training sessions so everyone understands why good data matters.
• Facilitate governance forums and working groups to tackle data quality issues and drive improvements.
• Lead initiatives like data quality management, metadata management, and data catalog adoption.
• Implement and enforce data governance policies across the full data lifecycle.
• Work with cross-functional teams to define data roles, responsibilities, and governance practices.
• Collaborate with the Head of Data to execute the data governance roadmap.
• Guide and develop the team, ensuring strong collaboration and steady progress toward our data championship goals

Which skills you should bring to the pitch

• Education & Experience. Degree or higher in Business, IT, or a related field, with 4+ years in data governance or related roles managing large, complex data ecosystems. You know how to run the midfield and keep the ball moving.
• Leadership & Championship Mindset. Proven experience leading high-performing teams and driving results under pressure. Winning matters to you, and you’re motivated to help the company stay at the top of the league. ⚽🏆
• Strategic & Hands-On. Experienced in shaping data governance strategy while staying hands-on with enterprise tools like data catalogs, lineage trackers, and business glossaries. You also understand ETL/ELT pipelines and can review SQL and Python data transformations.
• Data Governance Expertise. Solid knowledge of governance principles, including data ownership, stewardship, accountability, and management of core artefacts like inventories, metadata, and glossaries.
• Technical Knowledge. Comfortable with modern data platforms, architectures, and analytical flows, ensuring data is reliable, discoverable, and match-ready.
• Stakeholder & Language Skills. The main point of contact for governance, collaborating with teams across the organisation. English is essential, and German is a plus as we’re the #1 sports betting company in Germany.
