This role is part of the Advanced Analytics team which is responsible for data support needs across the Commercial segment. Requires deep knowledge of SQL, Python and Spark to extract big data from various schemas, ability to synthesize data into effective summaries to be shared with stakeholders with critical attention to detail. Must be an active participant and willing to form and share opinions, identify roadblocks, and collaborate on solutions. Creativity is essential for interpreting data and story-telling as well as having an enthusiasm for coding and creating scaled innovative solutions.
The role focuses on the development and execution of analytical projects through extraction of data residing in the cloud, aggregating and translating it into actionable insights in an efficient manner.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIESAbility to code in SQL, Python, Spark etc. to be able to extract data from various data tables on the cloud and create workflows/pipelines for various custom solutionsCraft scalable, interpretable, and sophisticated processes to solve customer problems quickly and accurately Collaborate and lead time-sensitive and critical ad hoc requestsCultivate a team environment focused on continuous learning, where innovative audience measurement methodologies are developed and refined through collaborative effortConduct advanced statistical and other analysis to provide actionable insights, identify trends, and measure performance
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLSHolds an advanced degree in a relevant technical discipline such as Computer Science, Electronics, Computer Applications, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field5+ years of experience in US media research (Television, Audio, Digital) with strong media research fundamentals and experience in Nielsen methodologies, and computationsHas 1-2 years of experience in statistical, data science, tech or business intelligence rolesProven ability to merge and transform diverse internal and external datasets to create innovative featuresHigh proficiency in Python, SQL, Google Scripts and PySpark; experience with ETL (e.g., Airflow) and cloud-based environments (e.g., AWS) is a plusProficiency in statistical analysis, mathematical modeling, and machine learning techniques; expertise in sampling, weighting, and projections. Deep knowledge of handling big data environments and understanding of data engineering principles a plus.Expert in data visualization tools (Spotfire, Tableau, etc) and technical communication of complex dataFamiliarity with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, H20.ai, cloud AI platforms, and containerizationAbility to merge and transform diverse internal and external datasets to create innovative features and new custom product solutionsDemonstrates strategic thinking, understanding the broader impact of data insights on product and business objectivesAbility to turn numbers into stories our clients can understand and respond to; ability to interpret data into actionable insights, provide ideas on feasibility and come up with alternative solutions
